I believe that sometimes they ask for a persons resignation or ask them to withdraw, and do this publically. Obama should just Hire the Donald for the vetting process.

    Question for Reps/conservatives/McCain supporters:

Do you like the fact that Obama admitted he did something wrong? Not in the "haha you screwed up" sense, but in the "I appreciate you admitting it" sense?
You're giving him credit for apologizing for a mistake he didn't make. How was he to know this when he nominated Daschle?

How would YOU feel if you we interviewing a candidate for a position and all was cool per that candiate until the truth comes out? This is now getting to be a list of screw ups by Obammy from Richardson to Killefer, to Geithner, to William Lynn the former Raytheon exec. and major pentagon contractor.
These are not mistakes by Obammy, he is simply getting caught trying to slide these snakes in to his slimmy cabinet. If they are mistakes he is as dumb as the guy before him. God help us all. So this is the "CHANGE" we were promised? Looks and smells r-e-e-e-a-l familiar to me.

That question was meant for Reps and conservatives, not extremists.

    Sorry.

Obama's screwup was not about knowing in advance the skeletons in the closets of his nominees, which is impossible. It was the poor vetting of his nominees. A good vetting is not only possible, but something that is expected from a president.

Yes, we know that any admission on Obama's part will never be good enough.
Of course they're saying that. Daschle was a very nice and well loved guy. What do you expect them to say, that he's a twat?

Only if you believe it. Does he want a medal or a chest to pin it on?

Are you going to ignore the fact that these two men didn't think that Daschle should have withdrawn his name? In other words, they didn't think the problems warranted a withdrawal. It's one thing to say, "He would make a great HHS Secretary; however, his tax problems posed a serious problem, and he was correct in withdrawing his name." That's not what they said.

Why on earth would they say that? What would they possibly have to gain, other than piling on a guy when he's down, seeming like jerks, and losing a friend?

To refocus the question: Tax problems aside, do you think that Daschle's payments for what was essentially lobbying for the health industry were problematic, given that he would be regulating those same companies?
