A little different. In one instance the market is closed to competitors goods and services, which will result in an increase in prices. It also sets a trend for the EU let's say to exclude US companies from EU infrastructure projects.

In your instance it's an individual decision. Individual decisions,, trillions of them, shape the market except for when the government intervenes... like in mortgages... or closing off an entire slew of competitors as Obama so foolishly put forth.

Having such a rookie at the helm, one with no private sector experience and naive foreign policy is going to be costly on so many fronts. I hear the only cuts to be proposed in spending is with the military, when we're at war. Not surprising.

A trade war was one of the reasons why the stock market crash of the '29 turned into a massive depression.
And about 50% of GDP is completely dependent of those 11% again, and the rest, 98% on all that again..
Europe is illegally occupied by the US

Yikes.. At this day and age a trade war between Europe and the US would be disastrous and carry long term ill effects and possibly be another nail in the already pretty nailed up economic coffin of decline.

Who the hell came up with that silly "buy American" clause anyways? What a fool!
I f I could buy `nothing but American` I surely would, unfortunately I can buy almost nothing made in America due to un-fair trade . Zebra...you are a pile of EU dung. I want a trade war , this other trade package isn`t working out well for the American worker.

That is moronic. Any economist worth his salt will tell you that trade barriers harm ALL nations involved. That includes left-wing economists, right-wing economists, and just about everyone in between.

But hey, why trust economists when we can trust your knee-jerk nationalism? After all, book-readin' folks are involved in a conspiracy against REAL Amurkans.

Dayton ,Ohio used to be over-run with American workers. Now your economists have succeeded in placeing your neighbors at the top of home repos and unemployment ranks. Nice try rooky, and welcome to the world of "junk economics sciences"...comeing to a book store near you.

There we go, i fixed it for you
It is not very unreasonable that the rich should contribute to the public expense, not only in proportion to their revenue, but something more than in that proportion.

You're an idiot. Foreign trade policy is determined nationally, not city-by-city.

I agree.**** the EU,**** china, **** India. We can not be just a nation of concumers and service industries. It is because of the anti-American scum in office tossing the salad of globalist companies that encouraged these companies to leave and made it extremely hard for anyone to set up shop here in the US.

Don't mind Kandahar, he is an globalist/anti-American who also thinks we should allow companies to hire illegal. Basically any economist who agrees with him is a good economist(globalist/anti-American) and any economist who doesn't is lousy.
"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murder is less to fear"

Requiring that American made steel be used for federally tax payer infrastructure projects is not a tariff increase, nor does it increase tariffs on products nor does it ban private companies that are doing work for private companies from not using foreign made steel.
