    Iran launches space satellite

Iran launches own space satellite to mark 30 years since revolution
Iran has claimed success in launching its first home-built satellite into orbit, using a rocket which the West believes is part of its long-term ballistic missile programme.

Until official satellite spotters confirm Tehranís claim, made by President Ahmadinejad, the Iranian leader, on state television, the announcement will be treated with a degree of scepticism. The first two attempts at launching an Iranian-built satellite, in February and August last year, failed.

If the Iranian Presidentís claim turns out to be true, however, it will provide further proof of Tehranís growing ability to master the technology for developing a long-range ballistic missile.

Despite Mr Ahmadinejadís insistence that the satellite mission was purely for peaceful purposes, experts said there was an undeniable link between the rocket launch and Iranís military programme.

This will be something I believe when I see. It's going to take more than the claims of an insane midget for me to believe they could successfully get a satellite up there.

We must stop it! Those must be the escape-pods that are housing the lay-outs of our Galactic Battle-Station. I only wanted Iran to know about our battle station, wittily named the Def-Jam's Star (needed a corporation to sign on), once it was hovering over their pestilence and Ahjaminijad pointed, stroked his beard, and exclaimed "that's no mooon".

I'm sure their funding and arming of Hezollah is also for purely peaceful intentions.

Just as peaceful as our funding and arming Laden and his goonies.

Maybe you'd rather that the USSR was still pointing nukes at your ass.

Or Sunni "terrorists" in Iraq, as a more recent example.

    Re: Iran launches space satellite

There's nothing like equivalency to justify it for liberal terrorist apologists.

It's not justification; it's an exposure of the ridiculous notion that the US has some kind of moral superiority. You attack Iran for funding and arming groups like Hizb'allah when in reality your own government does so as well. Anyone with half a brain can see that's a double standard.

Governments will work to protect and further their own interests. All governments. Neither case is special in any meaningful way.
