Turning down money offered to the state would be retarded. I don't see how simply accepting it means that he's not a good presidential candidate. I think there are plenty of other reasons why he's not.

I tend to agree with this.

More reason to vote Rick Perry out of office if you ask me.

Aw, Chuck has so little respect for me, that he doesn't think I'm smart enough to catch him cherry-picking his data. You neatly lifted out the quotes only from people who may be running against Obama in four years. Nice try!

It's not necessarily retarded. I think however that it shows that they can't get their states financial house in order without outside welfare.

Show me a governor willing to cut spending without a handout, and thats the future president I would rather have.

You have a habit over glossing over the obvious (btw drop the condescending sarcasm with me). The little pink symbol under my name means I'm a she.

You cherry picked and created false impression of what went on. I'd say you lose this one, Dolly.

Of course you think you won. But the unhappy fact is that all these GOP pooobahs who are whining about Obama's plan are also going to line up to take his money. Which makes them hypocrites.

    And I didn't cherry-pick. I just posted the links.

    Better luck next time!

I wouldn't have a problem if all he did was accept it. I have a problem with him saying he is against and then accepting it. Guy's a pussy.

As I foretold, Obama has succeeded in splitting the GOP even further. His stimulus package has caused Republican governors to rebel against Capitol Hill Republicans on the stimulus package. The reason is simple: the governors need the money. They’re all broke. Schools, health care mandates, roads, bridges, deficits.

“Hah, Ah’m Governor Barbour, when’s it mah turn to sit on Santa’s knee?”

GOP govs break with party over stimulus - Politics- msnbc.com

This won’t be the last time the governors revolt against the Washington Republicans. Already, governors like Haley Barbour and Rick Perry are fed up with the GOP hardliners on Capitol Hill, and are bragging that they deliver results while their Washington colleagues are flinging custard pies at Democrats. And a number of these guys, and one woman, are going to run for president, so they don't want to be dragged down by the party disasters in Washington. Barbour challenged Pence publicly: once a month we governors want to go to Washington, hear what you D.C. boys are up to, and give you our input. Y’all okay with that?

So far, in fact, the 2012 presidential prospects seem to be governors – Romney, Pawlenty....All of them are playing the same game of have-your-cake-and-eat-it-too, to try to suck up to the pragmatists and hardliners both. The exception: Palin. She’s already been outed as a Nazi. She really, really needs a political makeover. But she’s smart and ambitious, and she’s got plenty of time. Look for her to concoct some sort of “Saint Paul on the road to Damascus” moment – “Hey, let’s build a wind farm, have a meetin’ with that Hamadeeneejad guy about those nuke-ya-lar bombs, spank those nasty CEO’s and rich folks, and give those homos a civil unions bill!”

    So the GOP is divided.
    Moderate against hardliner.
Neocon versus supply-sider versus culture warrior.
    Senate GOP versus House GOP.
    Washington Republican versus Republican governors.

And the task of uniting them all, and crafting and launching a winning strategy, is...Steele, a guy whose one major campaign was riddled with chaos, staff firings and resignations, public lies, bogus endorsement announcements, and finally a major butt-whupping by the voters in a heavily black state.

If the Republican party was a stock, I think I’d be selling short Monday.
Let me bust your balloon. These political MONEY WHORES (Governors)are only after the bailout...FREE ...FREE ...FREE money. They hate the left, and the right equaly, unless they have to kiss their asses ,then its open mouthed love...for a fee.

The partisan once sided rhetoric fuming from you needs some objectivity to it.

I've seen in other posts that you think all waste in this plan is for republicans.
Wake up and look BOTH parties are loading pork in this bill for special interests and you throw in your support because the backers have a D by their name.

    Grow up.
