Michael Steele becomes first black RNC chairman

Gloating? What are you gloating about? Two trillion in deficit spending? I have seen you rail about the "perceived" excesses of the Republican President and Congress, but what fascinates me is the silence while the Democrats spend this nation into bankruptcy. How do you think they will pay for all the pork they will pass? Printing money? Expanding the National Debt beyond $15 trillion?

Let's look at one tiny fact; the ONLY Congress in modern history to ever balance a budget was the Republican congress. Yet you think that one can fight two wars, deal with 9-11, and deal with hurricane Katrina while continuing to balance the budget? That requires much more than suspending one's disbelief, it takes a naiveté beyond Walt Disney's fantastical cartoons.

Yes, you can gloat with the other minions out there who in their hypocrisy railed about Republican deficit spending but now cheer it on as if spending this nation into permanent debt on Liberal pork is a GOOD thing.

Yes, to many in this nation up is down, down is up, good is bad and bad is good. It’s an Alice in Wonderland moment that will soon get slapped with the hand of REALITY and then people will once more look back and say; “what in the hell were we thinking.” Or perhaps it should be; “not thinking.”

Why do you insist on failing like this?

Danarhea is railing against the Obama stimulus package.

Gloating? What are you gloating about? 1) Two trillion in deficit spending? I have seen you rail about the "perceived" excesses of the Republican President and Congress, but what fascinates me is the silence while the Democrats spend this nation into bankruptcy. My response:

1) Irrelevant. We are not talking about Democrat or Republican spending orgies, but about the new head of the Republican party. You are free, however, to post anything you want about Obama's spending in another thread, and I will be happy to join that discussion and agree with you.

2) Stop lying. Show me where I support Liberal pork and I will eat every page of every thread in this whole damn forum. By the way, at the moment, there are 3 threads I started on page 1 of breaking news where I trash Obama, and none which support him. Once again, please stop your lying.

3) Please post something that is relevant to the thread and makes sense.

4) Not addressed to any particular point you made, but to the fact that my gloating seems to have pissed you off. You and other Bush supporters did not have any problem, over the years, trying to label me a terrorist supporter and jihadist when I was criticizing the Neocons. I was not for you, so I was against you, and therefore was called a terrorist supporter, a tree hugging Liberal, a fake Conservative, and just about every other label you guys could throw at me. I got smeared with this crap for years, so, IMHO, I have ****ing earned the right to gloat at you, and just like Bush once said, I plan to spend the political capital I earned, as I stuck to my guns, by never letting you and the other Neocons forget that I was right.

lol, I'm pretty sure Obama isn't for leaving it to the states.

Oh I'm sorry I was thinking gay marriage. Lol, I got those mixed up.

Obama and McCain said gay marriage should be state issues, not abortion. I was wrong.

I'm glad Obama made action on abortion rights though.

Nope. Don't need one. I had been predicting for quite some time that the Neocons were going to be kicked to the curb after getting their butts handed to them by the Democrats. I actually predicted this as far back as 2005, and Bush supporters called me crazy. Now it is official. The Neocons ARE kicked to the curb, along with the ideology of fake Conservatism they attempted to foist upon this country. Want to know where Neocon ideology is right now? You need look no further than the nearest garbage can, where I am sure you will find copies of "Rebuilding America's Defenses" by Dick Cheney, the PNAC Manifesto, and various writings by Leo Strauss and Irving Kristol.

Don't mind me. I am just gloating.
So how much did they pay you for that prediction? I'll bet what it was worth. I'll bet becoming a foaming Bush basher has done lots for your life. So who's impressed....you are.

OK, now we see your petulance. Is the crying tantrum coming next?

More enforcement against Drug Trafficking. (Oct 2006)

I really love watching Republicans trip over themselves calling this guy a Conservative. It's cute.

When it comes to the War on Drugs, the Democrats arent any better in this regard. While Conservatives are more animated for the War on Drugs the Liberals have yet to show any spine in opposing it, hell some of them support it.

As for Steele being made Chairman I see it as a good thing. Now if the GOP can get its **** together by 2010 we might be able to put a check in Obama's power.

Yeah, lol, I was thinking about posting just that. Dems seem to be satisfied now.

One of the first headlines I saw after Nov. 4 was something like "how will the GOP pick up the pieces?" I guess its just normal for both parties to regroup and "find out what went wrong" after they lose an election.
You have to pick yourself up and correct mistakes when you lose an election by these margins, hopefully this will be the start of a real conservative resurgence, one that appeals to people who believe in the fundamentals of our constitution and liberties, if the Republicans don't regroup with the right mindset then the next election cycle will be ugly.

While there are things I disagree with Steele on, I am extatic about this pick, and never agree with anyone in full anyway. I think the GOP has a terrific chairman in the making.

I have a question, besides be a face, just 'what' does the party chairman do, exactly? What does that position even mean?

Republicans, what a joke.

It's nice that a black guy got elected, but damn what a token. And don't talk to me about Condi Rice, they all wish she had been a lesbian because that way they could have knocked out three birds with one stone.

"Generations" ,not election cycles where strongly influenced by ..."who caused the crash"...,"who got us into the war"...,"who destroyed our sovereignty"...,"who got us into socialism". The George W Bush cycle is one which will influence generations. The only hope for the MONEY WHORES on the right is ,"will the MONEY WHORES on the left make things worse"? People have been taught for years,( in our liberal fugging public school system) 'love thy token...,or ye shall be scorned as a racist". Voila...,Rock Star???Afro-American President...with absolutely minimal qualifications...,none, beyond being the antithisis of," he who DID NOT head of this economic crash".

The crash was caused by years of abuse, the war was going to happen becuase it wasn't finished correctly the first time and the president following Desert Storm didn't get tough enough. Socialism has been encroaching since the early 1900's.

"DON`T".... Now I am compelled to talk to you about...,"Condeliza Rice". She never showed a hint of stupidity or racism. I am not a true racist, but I see in technicolor, your opinion of this being a TOKEN. Obama took the verbal exam, and has displayed rampant racism. I think affirmative action will take on a whole new meaning now. If 13 % of the American population is black, why are 75% of the people arround HIM black...? OK ,I`m busted,I`m a parity racist.

The Republican Party was started by anti-slavery politicians, Einstein. On the other hand you've got a KKK member in your party.

The war `was` on going. Socialism `was` well rooted. Outsourceing `was` fathered by some other,( I think republican),idiot. "The economy is strong",in the words of [the father of the]...damn we just got our asses kicked in this election ,"George W Bush". He had plenty of opportunity(first term), before the dimwits took over both the congress and the senate(second term). He squandered his opportunity on MONEY WHOREING. The right will pay for this for generations to come. The working class used to buy cars and homes (this behavior went on [successfuly]for years),before outsourceing took away thier jobs. Todays ecconomy isn`t about bad loans as much as it is about bad paying McJobs. " Americans expect a pay check for work, lets get the chinese,(slave market),to manufacture our cheap junk goods". This was ,and still is ,the mantra of the MONEY WHORE. When he,the MONEY WHORE',re-includes the masses in jobs and wages,we will buy his goods and the economy will become REAL again. Feeding the rich will spill into the streets long befor it spills into the economy...TEAR GAS AND ROCKS. I hate that ,but tyranny just produces such result. This is a tyranny of MONEY WHOREING. Nothing more, nothing less( well OK there is the heavy handedness of our government and the growing police state). MONEY WHOREING has such a strong resembalance to ,"taxation without representation",that if continued, will produce the same result. "Revolution", isn`t just the domain of nonrepresentative governance,it can pop up in strange places like ,the work place ,or the pocket book, or YOUR back yard. You get the point...this really , really, really, isn`t just about bad loans, and MONEY WHOREING loaners. Its about those 30 to 50 million(and then some) Americans who don`t have a can to pee in or a litteral window to throw it out of. BTW...,those Mexicans you brought in (cheep...cheep) are unemployed now too. Good Luck righties and lefties , NICE JOB,"MISSION ACCOMPLISHED", I guess.

Well you know why he became RNC Chairman.....riiiiiiiiiiiiight

The Republicans are in deep trouble and have a great deal of work to do, to find a philosohy and a message, find candidates, rebuild its networks and fundraising, and reach out to all the groups they have driven away. Right now they need the best politician they can get, a major player like Haley Barbour.

Instead they picked Steele, whose track record has shown he has no capacity for drafting and launching a winning political strategy even at the local level. The only reason he got the job is...obvious.

So right after trying to ram an unqualified woman down our throats -- Palin -- they are turning to an unqualified black guy. What's next, an unqualified Mexican? I know their strategy has always been to appeal to ignorant voters, but who do these clowns think they're fooling?

If the GOP actually had any real leaders, they wouldn't be trying to play the Tony Orlando And Dawn game -- pick a woman, a black, a Hispanic...

It is kind of funny that after America's southern racists completed the 30-year process of migrating from the Democratic party to the Republicans, and taking over the GOP leadership, they had to surrender and put a black guy in charge of the GOP, even though his career shows he is unequal to the Herculean task of clearing up the wreckage of the party the rebuilding. The party of racism has become the party of affirmative action!

This shows how delusional the Republicans are. They have been fantasizing for years about attracting blacks back into their ranks, while simultaneously embracing every tenet of modern racism, from crime policy to drugs to welfare to jobs to affirmative action -- hoping that blacks wouldn't notice that the party is still racist to the core.

The really staggering part is that our current economic crisis began with a GOP effort to suck up to blacks. Bush removed the safeguards and regulations in the low-end mortgage sector, all with the aim of creating more black homeowners -- thus beginning the chain reaction that wrecked the derivatives, and the subprime lenders, then the financial sector as a whole, then everybody else. In other words, we are all paying the price for Bush's political delusions.

What's next, an unqualified Mexican?

WOW..., and correct !

"...member in your party". You have many of the other kind in your party...LIBERALS. I think they call it reverse descrimination and hatred. "Malcom-X" style hatred. I hate the RNC and the DNC ,at this point. Enough of both...eahy ?

You are such a caricature; what makes you think the world revolves around you? I was illustrating what your, and others, ceaseless blather impugning those in power with fantastical claims of corruption and mismanagement got you.

You gloat in a willful pool of denial thinking that by being against EVERYTHING, your points somehow have more credence than those who defend the facts and truth.

I guess I need some crayons to spell out what my point was before you write another treatise to explain what a freaking political genius you are; we got Obama thanks to all the incessant nonsensical Bush bashing party goers like you.

I hope you enjoy the next four years. Frankly, you should be embarrassed to even rant about Obama; after all, the previous guys were sooooooo terrible.

As for all the rest of your whiney diatribe, perhaps you were called those things because when one reads what you post, it is a NATURAL conclusion.

Yes Dana, you are so much better than us partisans who look at the REAL world and who KNOW that the world is an imperfect place with imperfect people and therefore choose the lesser of the two evils rather than be an ideologue like you who strives for that perfect politician.

Good lord, you need to take a breather from the forum once in a while to get a reality check dude. :rofl

You're talking about this guy?:

The son of Mexican migrant farm workers from Humble, Texas, who became the first member of his family to go to college, graduated from Harvard Law School, was named one of the first Latino partners in a prestigious Texas law firm and was appointed by then-Gov. George Bush as his counsel and later to the Texas Supreme Court.

Sounds like the American dream; at least, the dream America used to have when it celebrated success and hard work. These days we make celebrities of losers and parade them before the media to show the American people that they too are losers and only Government can save them.

Yep, he was so unqualified wasn't he; he didn't have a "D" next to his name. That is what it boils down to with Liberals. You cannot possible have the qualifications if you are Republican.

Carry on; you're trite one liners always make such strong arguments.

Apparently you didn't see his Senate testimony where his defense was incompetance. ;)
