Democrats Launch Petition Against Rush Limbaugh
Tuesday, January 27, 2009
By Melanie Hunter-Omar

(CNSNews.com) – The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee has launched an online petition for readers to express their outrage at conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh for saying last week that he wanted President Barack Obama to fail.
http://cnsnews.com/public/content/article.aspx?RsrcID=42616

On the heels of Obama’s ill advised Limbaugh comments, the DNC is now making the same mistake. Even starting a petition, sure wish I could recall the name of the poster who bravely predicted that Obama’s POTUS victory would spell the end for Limbaugh. Because clearly his show is about to experience an audience swell and even more exposure than usual, via Obama and the DNC. Jeez talking about playing into Limbaugh’s hands.:doh

The fact that anyone would take Limbaugh serious enough to start a petition is a joke in and of itself. They sure aren't failing to give the man material for shows.

My point exactly.

I guess they didn't want to make the mistake of sending a letter like they did last time.

FOXNews.com - Limbaugh Letter Fetches $2.1 Million on eBay - Politics | Republican Party | Democratic Party | Political Spectrum
The conservative radio talk-show host turned an inflammatory letter written by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and signed by 41 of his fellow Democrats into a more than $4.2 million gold mine for the kids of Marines and law enforcement personnel killed in the line of duty, all courtesy of eBay.

Rush took Reid's idiocy and put it to a good cause. Maybe he can do the same with the petition if it ever gets delievered to Rush. Rush clearly comes out the winner.

Oh snap I completely forgot about that. Good call, man I bet you this letter/petition could end up being auctioned off for charity too. This would actually be the only useful benefit to come from this idiotic posturing IMO.

Limbaugh's gonna have a field day with the DNC... :doh

Just another example that shows why the Democrats are so weak. The fact that an entire party has gotten their panties in bunch over an overweight, balding talk radio host just baffles me to no end. What a bunch of ****ing pansies.

The worst of this is Rush went into a long monologue setting up the line and it has been discussed, hashed-out on TV. He wants Obama's "socialist" schemes to fail... they always do fail, regardless of the author.

It is typical of The Left to leave "the rest of the story" on the cutting room floor. You would think their constituents would tire of these lame attempts at skewering Rush, and the result; egg on face.

When will they ever learn, especially taking on someone that has 15 hours of air time, and can get the truth out to make the socialists look like the liars they are.

This is the best they can come up with.

No doubt they are trying to isolate Rush, and then use this as a stepping stone to the Censorship Doctrine for radio stations.

Why are we talking about draft dodgers?

what "truth" is that?

"There are more acres of forestland in America today than when Columbus discovered the continent in 1492." - Rush Limbaugh

"I mean, lets face it, we didnt have slavery in this country for over 100 years because it was a bad thing." - Rush Limbaugh

"You know who deserves a posthumous Medal of Honor? James Earl Ray [the confessed assassin of Martin Luther King]. We miss you, James. Godspeed." - Rush Limbaugh

"Why should Blacks be heard? They're 12% of the population. Who the hell cares." - Rush Limbaugh

"The Earth's eco-system is not fragile." - Rush Limbaugh

"I don't give a hoot that [Columbus] gave some Indians a disease that they didn't have immunity against." - Rush Limbaugh

"He is exaggerating the effects of the disease. He's moving all around and shaking and it's purely an act. . . . This is really shameless of Michael J. Fox. Either he didn't take his medication or he's acting. This is the only time I've ever seen Michael J. Fox portray any of the symptoms of the disease he has. He can barely control himself." - Rush Limbaugh

"If the owl can't adapt to the superiority of humans, screw it." - Rush Limbaugh

"The most beautiful thing about a tree is what you do after you cut it down." - Rush Limbaugh

And then there are those on the other side of the aisle that take Limbaugh serious enough to support his ideals and outrageous sensationalism driven show. It's hard to tell which side is more pathetic, but I'm going to go with the Democrats on this one because they are actually getting upset enough to start a petition even though it's completely absurd. It's sad that the Democrats are in power and yet they spend time focusing on idiotic crap like this. I wonder if they'll have another petition next week over whatever flavor of the week outrageous comment Ann Coulter makes that gets them up in arms.

Did you write the petition for the Socialists?
Get a towel... there some egg on your face you need to clean up.

=niftydrifty;1057901896]what "truth" is that?

"There are more acres of forestland in America today than when Columbus discovered the continent in 1492." - Rush Limbaugh
For at least 50-years we have the ability to fight fires through aerial assault. Only 5% of America is developed. My guess is he's right.

"I mean, lets face it, we didnt have slavery in this country for over 100 years because it was a bad thing." - Rush Limbaugh
I've never heard this, never heard fallout which would naturally follow, so I suspect this... like so much you libs do... is taken way out of context or simply is not true.

And I find the following:

These quotations are currently being disputed because the author of the book did not provide air dates for the original source material quoted.

I suspect this... like the like above... is taken way out of context or simply is not true. It doesn't sound like Rush... and I've never heard it.

After all, look at what YOUR party leadership has done with Limbaugh... and now a second time. They have taken one line from a monologue that set up this one line... and ignored the set up.

That reveals you folks are about trying to destroy someone by ignoring critical facts.

And I find the following:

"Why should Blacks be heard? They're 12% of the population. Who the hell cares." - Rush Limbaugh
True. Like the western Kanuckistani's could care less about the French on the east coat.

Point being... we are Americans. This isn't the Balkans where we get broken down into a bunch of constituent groups... but this is how the Libs see America. Not as Americans, but as a bunch of groups they can pander to.

I guess you folks just cannot handle a color-blind society. Your actions reveal this.

"The Earth's eco-system is not fragile." - Rush Limbaugh
It's not fragile... anything but. We have thousands of lightening strikes daily, hurricanes, tornado's Tsunami's, earth quakes and the earth keeps going. In fact, we could have thermonuclear warfare, eliminate all human life, and the earth would yawn and continue on.

"I don't give a hoot that [Columbus] gave some Indians a disease that they didn't have immunity against." - Rush Limbaugh
Nor do I, other than it is history.
Here is Rush's full response in context:
In this 500th anniversary year of Columbus's voyage, I'm tired of hearing him trashed. I don't give a hoot that he gave some Indians a disease that they didn't have immunity against. We can't change that, we're here. We're the best country on earth and I'm sick and tired of people trying to change history so as to portray this country as an instrument of evil. It isn't true. I'm sick and tired of hearing Western culture constantly disparaged. "Hey, hey, ho, ho, Western culture's got to go," is the chant at Stanford University. What would Stanford be if the pioneers that are so reviled today as imperialists, racists, sexists, bigots and homophobes hadn't fought their way across a continent to California? The American middle class is just plain tired and worn out. They get blamed for everything in this country. They are taxed more than ever, and now they have to put up with lectures about how we have to ship billions of dollars to the former Soviet Union so they can eat this winter, even though it's cold there every winter and the people there have been hoarding food in their cellars for months. -- From "The Way Things Ought to Be."

He's No. 1 - New York Times

It was true. Nobody had seen Fox like that.

Later in the same show we have the following:
"Now people are telling me they have seen Michael J. Fox in interviews and he does appear the same way in the interviews as he does in this commercial," Limbaugh said on his Web site. "All right then, I stand corrected. . . . So I will bigly, hugely admit that I was wrong, and I will apologize to Michael J. Fox, if I am wrong in characterizing his behavior on this commercial as an act."

When do Democrats EVER admit they were wrong? Like with this latest BS with Rush?

"If the owl can't adapt to the superiority of humans, screw it." - Rush Limbaugh
Also true. Enviromaniacs have used environmentalism as a cover for being anti-development.

In context:
"If the owl can't adapt to the superiority of humans, screw it...Now, I know that sounded heartless. But my argument follows simple, pure logic. If a spotted owl can't adapt, does the earth really need that particular species so much that hardship to human beings is worth enduring in the process of saving it? Thousands of species that roamed the earth are now extinct. Do you hear anyone making the case that the earth would be better off if dinosaurs were still roaming the planet? Why, we could even survive without any owls. So what if they are no longer around to kill the mice. We'll just build more traps. Either that or we'll breed more cats." -- P.160-161
"The most beautiful thing about a tree is what you do after you cut it down." - Rush Limbaugh
Also true. Trees grow, die, and are a resource for harvesting. The best things are done after they are cut down. Just look at the beautiful work Edwards did on his little ranch in the Carolina's. Nice open views, enough room for a small Driving Range... not a tree between the house and surrounding forest today.

And those trees? Either are keeping him and others warm during cold days, or have been used in some manufacturing process.

The latest wrinkle, Limbaugh must be laughing all the way to the bank..............

House GOP member to Rush: Back off
By JONATHAN MARTIN | 1/27/09 4:13 PM EST Updated: 1/27/09 7:32 PM EST

Rush Limbaugh may command a large following, but his caustic comments Monday about the GOP’s congressional leadership have at least one Republican House member defending his colleagues and offering an unusually candid critique of the talk radio powerhouse and his fellow commentators.

Responding to President Obama’s recommendation to Republican congressional leaders last week that they not follow Limbaugh’s lead, the conservative talkmeister said on his show that Obama is “obviously more frightened of me than he is Mitch McConnell. He's more frightened of me, than he is of, say, John Boehner, which doesn't say much about our party."

Rep. Phil Gingrey, R-Ga., did not take kindly to this assessment in an interview with Politico Tuesday.

“I think that our leadership, Mitch McConnell and John Boehner, are taking the right approach,” Gingrey said. “I mean, it’s easy if you’re Sean Hannity or Rush Limbaugh or even sometimes Newt Gingrich to stand back and throw bricks. You don’t have to try to do what’s best for your people and your party. You know you’re just on these talk shows and you’re living well and plus you stir up a bit of controversy and gin the base and that sort of that thing. But when it comes to true leadership, not that these people couldn’t be or wouldn’t be good leaders, they’re not in that position of John Boehner or Mitch McConnell."

ok, so you drink the kool-aid. nevermind that people do care. or about acid rain, the lack of clean freshwater, or that there really aren't more acres of forest land. he lied about MJF, he downplays historical genocides which are not useful to his political agenda, and hasn't a clue about plantlife and the earth's ecosystem.

dude, you love Rush-style generalizations and diversions ("... but the Democrats..." ... "... and what about Edwards? ..."). these are not arguments.

this much was known.

what about my question? "what "truth" is that?" it was in response to your claim, in this thread:

When will they ever learn, especially taking on someone that has 15 hours of air time, and can get the truth out to make the socialists look like the liars they are.

The Stalinists... in action.

Tell me, what is sensational about Rush's show? Besides the income, ratings and longevity.

Are you kidding me? The man says outrageous things and it gets him ratings. It's for the exact same reason that Ann Coulter says outrageous things. Of course, I wouldn't expect someone like you (who foolishly agrees with the stuff that the man says) to give me a reasoned and unbiased view on Limbaugh.

Rush says outrageous things from time to time to watch the liberals go in a tizzy.

Rush says outrageous things from time to time to watch the liberals go in a tizzy.

Sounds like the ones that are going into a tizzy are conservatives over the The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee expressing it's rights of free speech against Rush.

The Rushbots don't like free speech when it goes against their mesiah Rush.
