CAROLINE KENNEDY ENDS SENATE SEAT BID - New York Post
"(You know) I informed Governor Paterson today (You know) that for personal reasons (You know) I am withdrawing (You know) my name from (You know) consideration for (You know) the United States Senate,"
I guess it's the old In-Out.
You're in, then out.

You know.

I guess having a senator with little to no experience is unacceptable. President... OK, senator not OK.

Thank God. I couldn't believe that people in the government were really considering her. Nepotism is great if you're on the right side of it; but that girl was in no way qualified. She couldn't even speak well.

In government nepotism should never be allowed if liberty is to be preserved.

It was even more than Nepotism. It was unmitigated chutzpah. She thought that, as an elite with the Kennedy name, she had a right to be given that seat. I hope that the person Patterson names will be one who has earned the right to that seat, and not somebody who sees it as a handout to the rich and famous.

This removes a real headache and dilemma for Paterson. I'd be willin to bet he has been less than supportive in any face to face meetings with her. If she stayed in contention, and to not name her would've damaged her image further than her public persona already had. Of interest will be how quickly he comes across with a nominee now. Cuomo is my guess. He has at least seen elective politics. His father has been NY Governor, and he's actually a resident of New York.

Until people realize that politicians are not demi-gods with the cures for all that ails us this crap will continue to go on. He will most likely name a less obvious elitist.

Well it's a good thing that the government has firmly squashed liberty under its ever expansive fat ass.

Yea but is experience really necessary? Considering that experience usually means that someone already has ties to lobbyists and entrenched insiders.

Joan Rivers raised the point that Caroline came out for Obama against Hildebeast in the Primaries
and that it would be a rather untenable relationship between the two of them
but she also admits that she hates Caroline

Who are lobbyists but citizens who hope to forward their ideas to government? And who does she know but insiders? The only solution to all those issues you've named is "transparency".

The current front runner is AG Andrew Cuomo who isnt that bad.

Sure the some lobbyists are citizens but they are lobbying for special privileges the rest of us do not have. That is counter to the letter of the law. If all she knows are insiders more the reason she should not have the position. The best way for government to work is a competition of idea's not a collusion. I won't hold my breath on transparency.
