Bush commutes sentences of former border patrol agents

Bush commutes sentences of former US border agents - Yahoo! News

Typical of his Presidency....Bush commutes the sentences of the border patrol agents who shot the man in the back.

Granted ... this man was a suspected drug dealer, nevertheless, he was unarmed and shot in the back and killed. Even worse, they lied and tried to cover up the killing.

This is great news Ramos and Compean are free. And they didn't shoot the low life repeat offender illegal alien drug smuggler in the back. They shot him in the ass.

IMO Ramos and Compean Should have never been prosecuted. They gave the drug dealer a green card. Can you believe that ****. Anyway he was caught smuggeling drugs again.

Being an unarmed "repeat offender drug smuggler" gives green light to a couple of lying vigilante thugs to shoot him in the back?
Wow....where have this country's values gone...when it is not only ok but deemed by some to be hero-ic to then lie and try to cover up thier illegal actions.

    Thank God!

Those men actually deserved pardons in my opinion.

Good for Bush, but really good for them.

Honestly....why do you believe they deserved pardons?

They shot an unarmed man in the back, lied about it and then tried to cover it up by trying to get rid of the spent shell casing evidence.

I'm curious as to why you believe they deserved to be pardoned.

He wasn't killed. In fact he was arrested again, after the shooting, for smuggling drugs into this country. He's serving a 57 month prison sentence for bringing ton of marijuana into the U.S.

Osvaldo Aldrete Davila story on AMW.

I thought he had been killed....nevertheless.....what about their actions make you believe that they deserved to be pardoned?

Sgt Rock is the one that said they deserved pardons....nevertheless lets rephrase the question:

why should their sentences be commuted?

Re: Bush commutes sentences of former border patrol agents

    FYI:

Bush didn't pardon the men for their crimes, but decided instead to commute their sentences because he believed they were excessive and that they had already suffered the loss of their jobs, freedom and reputations, a senior administration official said.
These guys were given a 10year+ sentence for doing their job- trying to protect the border. I agree they tampered with evidence and that was wrong, but ultimately they were just doing their job and had to pay for it.
I call my own shots, largely based on an accumulation of data, and everyone knows it.
