Not about gays, about life in the military.

Why do I have to keep repeating myself.
"About life in the military" isn't giving me any insight into why it won't work. What won't work?

It's working right now. Gays are serving honorably. It's working.

The only difference is that homophobes don't want to know. Knowing someone is gay won't make them more likely to attack you in the shower when you drop the soap or snuggle up in your bunk with you in the middle of the night.

This is why I asked you for specifics.

Because the openness is irrelevant. You are hung up on this attraction issue.

Should lesbians have to shower with the men?

That's a toss up there between the Air force and Marines, but I'd definitely agree that a female looks better in a Marine uniform rather than an Air force one.

I've never seen a female Marine. But that may be because the women who join the Marines look just like the men who do.

Link to proof that more than 12,500 people have decided against joining the military because they were scared that there would be gay dudes?

Who is pretending that they don't? I never said or implied this. I don't want to know who is or is not, period. It would be an unwelcome distraction no matter how much you would like to candy coat it.
Why does the prospect of gay men distract you more than the prospect of women or blacks?

It would affect moral as many people in the military would be very uncomfortable to say the least
    .

    morale

I can honestly say as much as I agree gay people should be allowed to serve, I probably would have balked at joining.
So you wanted to serve your country, but not enough to be faced with the prospect of interacting with gay dudes.

That says far more about you than it does the policy.

    Why don't you?

Off duty things were completely different in how the troops integrated.

    e.g. Fort Drum:
Two clubs operated on post by AAFES. One called Spinners (music orientated), the other called Pennants (sports orientated), they both operated at night as dance clubs.
Spinners was basically a black club, while Spinners was basically non black.
Spinners had to be shut down because of the conduct of the black soldiers.
The last straw was when they turned a car over in the parking lot and set it aflame.

My understanding was that the club was shut down for some time after I left Fort Drum but has since reopened.

    e.g. MFO, Sinai Egypt.
(An assignment that is so political that if the Sergeant Major is white, the majority of First Sergeants have to be non-white, and vise versa.)
Each Military Contingent has it's own Club/Bar/Mess, the U.S.'s is basically black, seldom do you find U.S. personnel of a different ethnicity in the Bar and rarely do you find those from another Contingent in the U.S.'s bar.
Not the same for the other Contingent Bars. (except maybe for the French, lol.)
This indicates that your use of the term "successfully integrated" is subjective to say the least.

Now if you would like to speak about what is generally unspoken of on duty
that cause underlying tension between races, it would also be an indication that your use of the term "successfully integrated" is subjective to say the least.

So you're arguing that blacks are less civilized than whites? I fail to see how your personal feelings on that matter are relevant to whether or not the 12,500 gay troops kicked out of the military could have helped.
