then I have no real qualms with you wanting a long term study. I still think you're extremely misguided, use GROSS exaggerations, and are as biased as you claim others that disagree with you to be....but if you're not pushing your "5 year moratorium" on a product and essentially a form of Speech then yes...your stance on it is no longer extremely fascist.

I see absolutely no problem in there being more long-term studies on the effects of gaming on children and if it can lead to an increase in aggressive behavior.

Why not see more studies on this?

All it does in my opinion is reinforce the need for parents to monitor their children's video-game play. That is a good thing at any rate.

But I don't think the findings should ever absolve the parents if they fail to do their job. If a 12 year old kid gets his Dad's gun and shoots his parents after playing GTA, then there are at least two problems there.

    1. Why is a 12 year old playing a game like GTA?
    2. Why the **** does the 12 year old have access to Dad's gun?

In both problems, the parents are the most responsible parties for not doing their jobs correctly, IMO.

Indeed, likely part of the strong response you'll find on this forum to Bhkad starting such a topic is because of his pronounced past heavy stance on BANNING video games for the time of these studies. This is the first time I've heard him actually back off that stance, which to me is a far more understandable thing.

I don't mind studies being done, and think it could be enlightening. I'd want to see it done by people that do not have an agenda, be it pro or anti video gaming. However, unless somehow these experiments came out to where 25 or 50% of people who played video games suddenly became a danger to society, there's little to no actual result that would likely cause me to agree with the belief that we need to BAN video games entirely.

I credit video games for my hand-eye coordination.

Your addiction is fascist funny, dude. There is no way that would ever happen with as many gamer nutballs, er fans as there are in this country.

    Get real.

I've got about 200 hours in it... and I still haven't seen everything. Fallout 3 isn't perfect... the main story is weak... but it's still destined to be a classic and is a shoo-in for Game of the Year. Awesome game, just awesome.

So, according to that, there was only 768 murders committed by people under the age of 18? 768? And we don't know what percentage of them were gamers either, but even if they ALL were, that's 768 bad seeds compared to the MILLIONS that play video games.

Wow. What a LOW ****ing percentage. It's almost as if playing video games had nothing to do with it.

Wow... and I've done every side mission! I'm currently collecting all the unique weapons and I have a few more bobbleheads to acquire.

I played two separate games. I missed so danged much my first time. The second game I wandered around until I had discovered every single map point... along with a bunch of unique weapons I didn't know existed that were tucked in burned out diners and such. Such a massive world... I still couldn't find everything inside D.C. itself. I wander at a slowed, awestruck pace, lol!
