Bush to make farewell address Thursday: White House

After seeing Bush owe up to a lot of his mistakes today, I am looking forward to that address when he gives it this week. Bush is clearly no longer drinking the Kool-Aid of what is left of the Neocon movement, and seems to be more like the George Bush that was governor of Texas before he ran for President.

As of now, I will no longer use the term "Bushneviks", because Bush no longer deserves to be associated with the Neocons. Some may say it's too late, but I say better late than never.

I read another similar article today, and admit I have a newfound respect for him. Not sure where it came from after years of denials, but it's nice to see him take ownership. I can bet there are a bunch of things he'd do over.
No men are anywhere, and Im allowed to go in, because Im the owner of the pageant and therefore Im inspecting it, Trump said... Is everyone OK? You know, theyre standing there with no clothes. Is everybody OK? And you see these incredible looking women, and so I sort of get away with things like that.

What did he own up to that he didn't own up to years ago? He has already said he regretted "Mission Accomplished" and a lot of his rhetoric like "Bring em on!"

He sorta retracted the apology he had made right after Katrina, saying he was judged too harshly about it and that 30,000 had been rescued off rooftops within a few days.

He defended Iraq saying it was the right thing to do. He seems very confident of his presidency.

Asked about WMDs, Bush grins: 'Things didn't go according to plan'
    John Byrne
    Published: Monday January 12, 2009

A confident George W. Bush took the podium Monday for what is likely the last press conference of his presidency, fielding a panoply of questions on the economy, President-elect Barack Obama, and what he sees as the failings of his term.

Speaking about the Administration's claim that Iraq possessed weapons of mass destruction -- which served as the cornerstone of the president's justification for war -- Bush laughed.

"Things didn't go according to plan, let's put it that way," Bush said with a smile, then a grimace. The WMDs touted by Bush and his advisers were never found. More than 4,000 American troops have died as a result of the invasion; the toll for Iraqi civilians is in the tens of thousands.

"Clearly putting a mission accomplished on an aircraft carrier was a mistake," he replied when asked what he'd done wrong under his watch.
"Some of my rhetoric has been a mistake."

"I've thought about Katrina," he added, without identifying particular errors in judgment.

"Abu Ghraib obviously was a huge disappointment," he continued. "Not having weapons of mass destruction was a big disappointment."

We shouldn't blame the system. We should blame ourselves.
