Darn it Dana. I was looking forward to you toying with him. I think he's a hoot.

I would chat with her when I'm feeling particularly snarky, but I wouldn't ever call her on the phone.

LOL. I don't want the infraction points for screwing with BonnieTOT. The only reason BonnieTOT is stalking me in so many threads and baiting me is to get a rise out of me so that I DO get infraction points. So, I put BonnieTOT(her/him/it) on ignore. LOL.

"Abu Ghraib obviously was a huge disappointment," he continued. "Not having weapons of mass destruction was a big disappointment."
    ...

That just tickles me, for some reason.
What? No weapons of mass destruction?
    Dang it!!

    His speech should be short.

Out he is, but for all his problems, he did do at least one thing quite well, and that was picking judges. Other than his cleaning lady (Harriet Meiers - LOL), his picks were all outstanding. Eventually, Iraq, torture, and spying will all be dead issues, as change for the better will happen in all 3, whether it is Obama changing it, or the next Republican president changing it after 2012. However, Bush's judiciary of strict constructionists will last a generation. And, my friends, as much as I have bashed Bush over the years, I must say that the judges will definitely be a legacy, and a good one too.

NOTE: Did I just say "my friends"? Oh my God. I KNEW I should not have voted for McCain. LOL.

I agree about the judges but in all fairness, I usually state it this way.

"The one thing that Bush certainly did well was pick judges, but he tried to screw that up with his Harriet Myers pick!"

Personally I think he has mellowed a bit of late, although I found his conduct on the Israel stuff uninspiring, although he is an American - what do you expect from them on Israel!

I hope he has a good life post office, at the bottom I don't think he was a bad man.

As I've expressed several times on here before, I've practically fallen in love with post-hysteria Bush. Or, more specifically, fallen in love with him as a literary character. I'm psyched about the speech. Perhaps it will be a poignant book-end to the bizarre, tragic tale that is his presidency.
