it is democracy not seizure of power! Of course the same democracy which was buried in Algeria. You are like saying if not at your end, then it is not democracy.

All it does is enrage people and allow Hamas to declare victory when Israel inevitably withdraws, who will almost certainly go back to the rocket attacks as soon as Israel leaves. Or if Hamas is really lucky, the Israelis will stick around permanently and Hamas can go back to its old pretense of wanting to end the occupation.

Did Israel learn absolutely nothing from the Second Lebanon War? What the hell does this accomplish?
Israel has no intention of occupying Gaza. The military objective is to end the incessant Hamas rocket attacks. If this requires the utter destruction of Hamas (and I believe it does), then so be it. No more phony ceasefires. Israeli public opinion is rock solid on this... do whatever is necessary to end the Hamas menace, but do not occupy and/or administer the strip.

A Hamas void begs the question of who would then govern Gaza. It won't be Israel. Nor Fatah. The most likely candidates are either Egypt or an international peacekeeping coalition.

I can understand this very strange argument from Pro-Israel Americans. Apparently the fact they didn't have a country means they didn't have a right to the land.

I suppose the US didn't have a right to revolt because they didn't have a country, it was Britain's land to do as it pleased with it.

I am sorry for the mistake Laila!

When Israel came to being as a country and how? Where do Israelis live before?
What is the history of Palestinians and where do they live prior to moving to "Israelis country" and when they moved there? and why israelis permitted Palestinians to enter into Israel, build houses, and settle there??????

Who has cultivated Israel and made it a reality in the Middle East, and why? Who is arming and supporting Israel and why?

Look for answers to these questions you will understand the conspiracy. It is the same conspiracy that led Americans to kill millions of Iraqis and set the country to chaos on false grounds.

I don't see how an invasion can accomplish this better than the bombing has. It's not like the bombs can't get to them...rockets need to be out in the open in order to work properly. And an invasion certainly isn't going to prevent any casualties.

The Israeli government has already explicitly stated that the goal is not to overthrow Hamas. In other words, just enough force to enrage the Arab world, but not enough force to actually solve the problem.

That's what Israel said about Hezbollah in 2006, and look what happened. Although a major invasion and occupation would be able to dislodge Hamas from power (if Israel had any interest in doing so), it's almost impossible to actually get rid of an organization like Hamas through military firepower.

Fatah is the only party you listed that even has any interest in governing Gaza.

It is not a conspiracy, it was done quite openly.

The area which is now Israel had a population which was only 8% Jewish in 1918 by 1948 with the conviving of the British and the UN they'd taken over the area and property of that country. It was quite open.

There is no way militarily to stop rocket attacks (mobile launchers) via air power exclusively. Indeed, rockets continued to be fired all during the first eight days of the air campaign. There will always be casualties in war. There is no way around this truism.

I believe you are wrong. All factions in the government of Israel have come to the stark conclusion that Hamas must go.

Yes. The same fundamental problem exists with all terrorist organizations.

Abbas has no desire to sweep in to Gaza on the back of an IDF tank. This is just common political sense.

Wrong. They militarily seized power. They won PARLIAMENTARY elections, but the rightful head of 'state' is Mahmoud Abbas.
