I got my kids here right now, that thought is the most... painful to even contemplate. I pray no one ever has to face it.
Climate, changes. It takes a particularly uneducated population to buy into the idea that it's their fault climate is changing and further political solutions can fix it.

    I don't ****ing know.
I deal with it by reminding myself how painless and easy it is to die via heroin overdose.
Any time thoughts of one of my kids dying slip in, I derail them with, "Oh, well. I'll be right there with him before his body even has time to cool."

I cannot live my life thinking about such things. I just console myself with the fact that if it ever happened, I would immediately kill myself, and so i am able to forget about it and carry on with the business of living.

What purpose would it serve, except to compound his tragedy?

    I have no idea.
Perhaps it would prevent or deter similar tragedies in the future.
I assume that is the point, when people sue the CoS.
It's not like anything is going to give them back their lost loved one.

I'm also not saying that I think Travolta or the CoS should be prosecuted.
But there is already talk. I'm only saying, it may happen.

This is neither here nor there, but when I was 20 I had cancer and it was as likely I would die as not. At the time, I wasn't as aware of how it affected my family as I am now. I had it easy compared to my parents and brothers, what they had to go through. I was miserable with chemo and all, but they were so scared. To this day, over two decades later, they would still not be over it if I had died.

The part of the story I saw that this article seems to have missed was that it appeared that before he hit his head, he had a mild seizure. (which resulted into his hitting his head).

He may have also had autism.

It's amazing how having children changes you isn't it?

I can handle the thought of my parents passing, I can handle the thought of my passing away. But my kids... almost instant irrationality.

    No, I'm sure they wouldn't.
It's weird how immortal we feel when we're young, and how overly-mortal we seem to our parents.
When I was young, I placed myself in some terribly dangerous situations, categorically convinced that nothing could ever hurt me.
    And nothing ever did.
It makes me sad now, to think of how pained and terrified my dad must have been.
Makes me wish I could go back in time and tell him, "Don't worry. It all turns out okay in the end."

I am so sad to hear this. A few years ago, Travolta lived a few miles down the road from us while filming "Phenomenom". I never met him personally, but saw in at the local pizza parlor and knew a couple of his neighbors. They said he was the nicest, friendliest, most down-to-earth guy.

There is no worse tragedy than the loss of a child.

For many years now, there have been rumors about the Travolta's being in denial about their son's Autism, relying on their religion to address the situation. According to Scientology teachings, Jett has been given the status of "degraded" where the church says he can cure himself by working harder on the church's teachings. The Travoltas deny that Jett has Autism, claiming that their son's condition is Kawasaki syndrome, a disease characterized by high fever, skin rash and swelling of the lymph nodes.
I feel sad about this because there are some treatments for Autism that would not involve medication - something Scientology disdains. For example, Applied Behavior Analysis would be helpful. But the religion denies the existence of any mental/neurological disorders, so it seems that nothing will be done for this boy.
Of interest, is that Travolta's older brother, Joey Travolta , produced the widely acclaimed documentary Normal People Scare Me - a film about how autistic people see the rest of the world. The documentary was directed by Taylor Cross, an autistic 17 year old film-maker."

I wonder if Travolta and/ or the Church of Scientology will end up facing any sort of charges in relation to this death.
Lisa McPherson was someones daughter before she died in the hands of scientology at the Fort Harison Hotel in Clearwater Florida.Google it,you`ll find that many have died trying to heal themselves with the practices created by a science fiction writer,Lafayet Ron Hubard. John Travolta so inpressed me that I spent 9 months, this year, studying scientology/Dianetics.So much about it is`unproven medicine`.When you Google the autopsy of someones daughter"Lisa McPherson",take the time to understand the full scope of scientology. If the parents kept their son off anti-seizure meds dont blame them...they`ve been heavily indoctrinated into a cult which practices stealing minds bending them and collecting money. They also practice many, many other crimes. Its a cult...Don`t blame John and Kelly.I too feel terible about this news.I feel very relieved to be liveing in the real world again too. LOVE your kids, give them two hugs tonight and a kiss.
