BBC NEWS | Americas | The new first lady of style?
"I'd like to see her bring a sense of fashion back to the White House, just like Jacqueline Kennedy did in the 60s," says Mary, who is visiting the museum [of first ladies inaugural dresses] from Pittsburgh.
Style magazine Women’s Wear Daily believes Mrs Obama is an icon in the making.
Maybe I'm hopelessly out of chic but I've never been impressed with Michelle Obama's fashion sense. I think her hair is kind of scary looking and her clothes are boring.
I've also never been super impressed with Jacky O either (the gay community has threatened to excommunicate me if I don't recant).
First wives always look like ladies in their 40s and 50s that wear...what ladies in their 40s and 50s wear.
I'd be way more impressed if she wore designer jeans, chucks and a designer t-shirt. That'd be a genuine first lady fashion fiat.
