RNC chairman condemns controversial Obama song

It just makes me shake my head and chuckle when ignorant PC junkies throw hissy fits over something they don't even understand. They just hear "negro" or "black" and start caterwauling their racism rants.

Too funny.

like the dude in dallas who freaked out about "black holes"

I personally didn't find that part of it offensive. It was the fact that some white guy is insulting white people by saying that they only supported him because of white guilt and because he feels the need to discern who is or isn't authentically African American. White people in this country can only imagine what black people in this country go through considering that our origins in this country are quite different. The fact that a white conservative guy thinks he can discern the reasons that white people voted for Obama or whether he is or isn't authentically African American is offensive and racist to me. It has nothing to do with being PC.

I don't buy the "what black people go through argument" and haven't for about 20 years now.

Now that Barak is is President, next time I hear anything about how Blacks gotta anything other then work hard like everyone else... I'm gonna laugh at em.

This is by far one of the most ignorant comments I've ever seen you make.

Glad to see the RNC chairman doesn't support racist idiots. Too bad the same can't be said for the other conservatives and Republicans.

You do realize the song is a parody of sharptons and Jacksons black racism, including the he's not black enough, and other commentary from the left about obama....

It is done in sharptons voice as a parody.

Also the term "magic negro" was coined by L.A. Times columnist, David Ehrenstein, a raging liberal.

No outcry there, why?

People should at least hear the song before you make commentary, no? :2wave:

What? Listen to the lyrics? ARE YOU CRAZY MAN? Obviously this is a racist song, white people cannot make fun of, satirize or otherwise use race in anyway to make a point. That's just damned dirty racism.

Why? Barack proves the "pull yourself up by your boot straps" mentality works for EVERYONE. Even african americans.

How so? They've made it. Now Black people have to drop the whole "we're victims of..." mentality. Which should greatly improve their lot. Drop the victim mindset, stop blaming people for evertyhing... and start acting like Americans not "african" American's I think you'll see a vast improvement.

Oh and stop the gansta rap... that would be a service to music, culture and our children. I hate that crap.

So what? Does that warrant singling out African Americans as if they don't work just as hard as everyone else in this country?

The fact that we are going to have an African American President doesn't suddenly wash away the history of slavery and what brought most black people to this country. People like you continue to bury your heads in the sand and pretend that racial equality has existed for so long, when it hasn't. The fact that an African American can be President is a colossally huge step in the right direction. But it doesn't suddenly negate what has happened in the past.

I've got a simple solution for you: Don't listen to it.

Uh, where did you even get that implication?

What I got from his comments are basically that he's saying that African Americans have been victimizing themselves and been lazy and now they won't be able to now that Obama is going to be the President. That's a pretty ignorant statement if you ask me.

actually he wasnt i would also say it seems you are the one infering it. :2wave:

Perhaps he should clarify then. He didn't seem to disagree with my assessment of his comments in his reply to my post.

No, time has negated what happened in the past. That and the fact that there hasn't been a soul who even lived through slavery since 1979 and even that is a little sketchy since the man was reputed to be 137 years old.

I believe that we're talking about the those that play the victim, and spend more time crying about "racism" and how life's "unfair".

But oh wait... now we're being racist right? And that right there... is half the problem. I don't care about the "black experience" because that's just excuse making BS. Work hard, be responsible, get an education... you greatly improve your chances succeed. That's America.

Sit around talking about how you're a victim... without any proof, just saying "cause I'm black, I gotta twice as hard to prove myself" or "Why get an education, that's acting white, I ain't no oreo..." That crap's gotta stop, and now with Obama as President, I can laugh at them.

I don't buy that African Americans have been victimized for quite a long time now. Obama proves that its all in the mentality of the individual and not in the so-called oppression of the race.

No people like me were raised under a simple concept, and I live by it: Judge a man by the merit of his character, not the color of his skin.

I also don't wallow in the past. Slavery was 150 some odd years ago, we have a black president, it's time to move on. The sooner we stomp out "well it was unfair for years" crap the better.

I don't, but the culture it fosters is horrible. Period.

Nothing will negate what has happened in the past. Time certainly doesn't change a thing. The fact of the matter is that the history of African Americans in this country is quite different from white people. Nothing will ever change that. I think few people actually use it as currency to get special privileges. I think for the most part people just want it acknowledged so that people can quit pretending that racial equality exists. It will never exist.

I know you think these problems are old, but they aren't. Civil rights issues concerning African Americans didn't happen that long ago.

nothing happened to blacks today, I am Irish, should I whine and bitch about my ancestors reading "irish need not apply" signs and demand reparations from england for the potato famine?

it is patently rediculous.
