I am only referring to what the extremists are declaring. I love how Muslims love to complain about the Crusades, but conveniently forget about their centuries of aggression prior to this.

Despite our disagreements here, that does nothing to change our basic agreement on Somaliland.

America has it's own history of standing up to its own internal aggressors. We fought a war to oust Great Brittain and we fought a war against our own people to end slavery. I have no sympathy for these "moderates" who sit idly by and watch the extremists (who are supposedly few in number) run rampant and pretend to speak for the entire religion. When the moderates take up arms against their own bad seeds, then they will garner my sympathy.

Who forgets it? Crusades just over shadows it and quite rightly.

Extremists from all religion declare stupid things. Why use it as a representation of the majority?

I would not pick up arms against anybody [possible exception for Islamists in Somalia]

Moderates do not have the money and backing extremists have.

I'm pretty sure we would be willing to arm moderate parties willing to fight entities like the Taliban. ;)

Are you sure?
US seems to have alot of close deals with Saudi Arabia who in turn practices and spreads the most extreme version of Sunni Islam. [Who in turn make up 90% of the 1.2 billion Muslim population]

We already HAVE done this. We supported the Northern Alliance against the Taliban and are currently supporting the relatively moderate Afghani government.

As for the KSA, I am in complete agreement with you here. Why we support them - and that support has been bipartisan for decades - is beyond me. It is an absolute disgrace.

Lol, i just had an arguement with my friend, i hate it when people try and compare Israel to Somaliland. It doesn't work

Yeah, I'm pretty damned sure we would arm moderate parties willing to fight the extremists. Especially since we have done so repeatedly throughout history.

You're right, the two are NOT comparable. Israel's situation is unique, though that of Somailand is NOT unique - just unusual. Regardless, I support both.

The Taliban intend to treat females in Palistan exactly as they did in Afghanistan... as pariah's and property. As is obvious from their tenure in Afghanistan and the bolded quote above, this is not an empty threat. They will murder and maim to impose their fundamentalist version of Islam on the local populace.

False. If the US were so worried about angering their Arab allies, I doubt we would support Israel as fervently as we do.
 
I don't know if I will ever understand the mental east....oops.... I meant Middle East. All I can say is thank God over here we don't have Christians suicide bombing Muslims...or Jehovah Witness suicide bombing Hutterites...etc.!

Maybe someone should start a new religion over there and teach their young children that if they grew up to kill a Taliban or Hezbolla believer they will recieve 73 virgins (to one up the muslims) if they are men or 73 Chip and Dale dancers if they are women. If they kill that 1 enemy in a mall with 100 people in which they don't know who's side they're on, they get a bonus "vibrating bed".

Not a bad idea considering that the majority of terrorist mortars, weapons, rockets and ammo are stored in mosques.
