Sneed hears rumbles President-elect Barack Obama's chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel, is reportedly on 21 different taped conversations by the feds -- dealing with his boss' vacant Senate seat!

A lot of chit-chat?
Rahm's calls on tape :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Michael Sneed

21 times eh? And Obama was clueless.. didn't know a thing right?

When are you guys gonna figure out The One, is what the left kept trying to claim Bush is.

Corrupt, dirty, secretive and doesn't give a damn bout nobody but himself.

The article doesn't even suggest that Rahm Emanuel did anything wrong like offering a bribe. Nor does it suggest that he even knew what Blago was up to. Nor does it even suggest that the conversations in question were with Blago or anyone affiliated with him. Nor does it even suggest that the conversations were before the news of the scandal broke. And it doesn't even come close to tying any of that to Obama.

What's wrong with him taking an interest in the vacant Senate seat anyway? Is there any president-elect in history who didn't care at all about who replaced him in his old office?

HAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Yeah, okay look guy, Blago's as dirty as they get, but oh... not Obama's folks, no they had no tally, no clue... all good. 21 calls, and the only ones Blago was straight with were Obama's folks.

RRRRIIIIGGGGHHHHTTTT

That was the most retard article I have ever read. I felt like it was written by Jeff K.

So Rahm, Obama's cheif of staff, is on 21 calls to the Governor, who is to appoint Obama's successor. How does this equate to Rahm or Obama being part of the Governor trying to sell the seat?

I don't understand. Is it 21 conversations with Blagojevich? I don't see how Rahm conversing about who's taking his boss's previous spot with no in particular is even abnormal, much less treasonous. Hell, they could be 21 conversations with his great aunt in Wyoming for all we know. If it's 21 conversations with the guy in question, then we might have something.

Right now the logic seems to be: Rahm has discussed Obama's replacement, therefore Obama is corrupt. I can't figure out the math to that.

This is how I feel about the whole thing. If Obama did know what Blag was up to, then he had an obligation (just as anyone else who knew) to expose what was happening. If it does come out, which it hasn't yet, that Obama knew and kept quiet or ignored it, yeah...that's a big mark against him and it points to a pattern. A very bad pattern.

All very well and good, but did you read the article linked in the OP?

Of course I read the article in the OP. The topic isn't me and whether I read the article and OP, however, so let's get back to the topic in your next response.

You know, the thread was based on the article, so I'm not exactly public enemy #1 for asking if you read it.

My response was to the article and OP. Asking me if I had read it before I commented AND then not commenting on the actual post was rather insulting. Comment on the topic and not me and you may be better received.

Alright, here is the "article" in question

A lot of chit-chat?

Hot air?

Or trouble?

To date: Rahm's been mum. Stay tuned

And I don't need to remind you of your response.

I don't get the connection.

And I don't need to remind you of your response.

I don't get the connection.

The connection is that this is a far reach to associate Obama. The only way Obama can be held accountable for this, or anyone for that matter, is if they were part of it or had knowledge of it.

Obama was referenced immediately in the OP. The response connected the article and the OP. I can't believe I'm having to explain this.

Then we were on the same page after all. I read something differently into it. My bad.

There may be an ethics issue here at any rate. At the moment, Obama is a private citizen, contrary to what many believe. It might be inappropriate for him to try to influence the selection of his successor in any but the most superficial manner.

This is fun to watch. Yes, of course Obama knew nothing... like he didn't know Bill Ayers once blew up government buildings, or that J. Wright is a race hating, angry preacher man, or that Tony Rezko was dirty business.

I get that the Big O is oblivious to wrong doing by anyone near him. He could be a in a bank getting robbed by Michelle and he wouldn't know it.

Sneed is a gossip columnist for the sun-times, just so those of you who are not from Chicago know.

Most of her crap is pure unadulterated garbage like: "Brittany spears was spotted at Gibsons steak house last night with John McCain... Could there be romance in teh Air???? Stay tuned for more!"

I take her nonsense for what it is: Pure idioocy.

I find it funny that some conservatives bitch when people use "rumors" to rant on about the Bush Administration or the U.S., but then go and use "rumors" to bitch about Obama.

I'm with Jallman on this; if he was involved, information will come out in time. If it does, its a very bad mark against him. If it doesn't, then it doesn't.

One word for the conservatives...

Haliburton.

I'm with Jallman and Zyph about if the information comes out against Obama and it is clear evidence against him. I think that would be a real ****ty way to start off a presidency.

One word for the conservatives...

Haliburton.

The evil boogeyman word of the left... in which there was never any proof of wrong doing.. just lots of mouth foaming...

Here we have no kidding proof of the Ill. Gov. as a slime ball, and "rumor" that O's bud Rahm had some talks with the guy.

Which has more weight...

Neither.

(Ten characters)

I suspect that Rahm will become just another, "This is the ~insert name~ that I knew" incident for Obama.

I wonder if Axelrod will be given the same treatment since he declared unequivocally that Obama and Blago were in touch regarding that Senate seat while Obama says unequivocally that he had nothing to do with Blago...
