Like Bush, McCain was being used by "The Dark Side". Bush is a very decent person too. As Governor of Texas, he was liked and respected by Republicans and Democrats alike. Then he was lured away from being who he was by people who had an agenda, along with a plan to implement that agenda at any and all cost to this country. Have you taken a good look at Bush recently? He is back to his old self too. Like him or not, you have to agree that he really is a very decent guy when he is himself. Welcome back, George, and God bless you.

He is a member at the church I grew up in. And in person not as a politician he seems like a likable guy. The type that is fun at a party.

I'd rather drink a beer with Bush than drink a latte with Obama.

This is the John McCain that non-partisans can all appreciate. Welcome back, John.

No, that is John McCain tossing democrat salad like he usually does. He probably wants Obama to appoint him to some position. He probably wonders why he lost and why real conservatives would rather vote for Barr or some other candidate instead of voting for McCain.

I think the trying to link Obama with a alleged corrupt governor is nonsense. Obama has no say in who his replacement is and if he really wanted to appoint someone he liked to a position I am sure he has plenty of positions to fill seeing how I do not think he is going to keep any of Bush's people.

"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murder is less to fear"

His joining with Democrats against Republicans also is why he had no chance to win. When he sided with Democrats on the "bailout" against the Republicans in Congress, his chance to win evaporated. But for Palin, Obama would have won by a truly massive landslide. Hopefully, Republicans will nominate a Republican to be their presidential candidate in 2012.

I think you're right. If there had been more of this reasonable thinking and honesty in his campaign, McCain might be the President elect.

Then the real question must be asked; what is "the dark side"; and why are republican's so easily swayed by "the dark side"?

Then I take it you are massively pissed off a the GOP now as it's full of big government, big debt, big deficit, big intervention liberals?

What conservative WOULDN'T be ticked off with the GOP hijacked by big spenders, but many are just as ticked off that it has also been hijacked by the evangelicals.

That depends on what we call a Conservative.
