Bush handled it pretty well. I question how the man was able to do that in the first place without the security kicking his ass sooner. It could've just as easily been a grenade.
I think they were probably confident there were no guns or grenades in the room and felt it was a safe enough environment. The pesident showed his stuff with his quick reflexes; with the second shoe he held up his hand expecting a lower aim but not willing to drop below the podium. He also showed his always gracious attitude at being the butt of this so called free speech by upholding it each time he has spoken about it. The most critical thing he said was "I don't know what this guys beef" was.

comments on the whole thing while still in the room

He should have put a grenade in it and wiped the smug look off that pricks face - especially when he joked about it afterward, claiming it was 'amusing'.
What sort of cruel mother****er finds kidnap, torture, and death amusing? That man was kidnapped and tortured. He went through unspeakable hells, his friends and family have been killed, and all Bush can say is that he was 'amused'?
**** I hate your President, America. He makes me sick to my stomach.
I watched the above link, and I also saw it on the Sunday News programs, plus an interview of the president by Martha Raddatz and didn't hear the president say he was amused.
I also did a word search for "amused" or "amusing" on this incident, and came up with nothing like that. Did I miss something? Perhaps this is just another case of "projection" where some people see and hear what they expect to see or hear.
Bush is actually in pretty good physical shape for his age, especially considering the job he has had for the past eight years.
Yes he is, and his heartbeat is below 60. I wonder, since Obama has begun smoking again, if he will be in as good shape 8 years from now after serving two terms.
