Palin's Church Severely Damaged by Arson

Or perhaps it will turn out to be a fraudulent attempt to collect insurance.
That's what a lot of arson turns out to be.
I'm not counting on it in this case, however, because I don't think they would've done it while parishioners were actually in the building. At least I hope not.

doubtful given the microscope they know they would be under.

What are you on about? you make such nonsensical assumptions and flat out lies. i never inferred any "whole group, or ideology"......you lied.

No, but you brought up political affiliation. If you weren't trying to imply something, why even bring it up?

**** the Good Reverend will make one of his ho's roll with the panties as shes getting my stacks.

But do we really want Elliot Spitzer to join DP?

Gee so knowing the possible political motivations of the savage has no worth to you?

Actually, no it doesn't. I think it's probably pretty safe to say whatever political ideology they have doesn't advocate this behavior.

You are making an advocacy argument. I have not.

try again my friend.

Then tell me why it matters what their political views are. What they did was wrong, I think we can all agree on that.

why bury ones head in the sand, lets look for obvious places to start looking.

There is no evidence of any political motivations at this point in time or that "elitists savages" had anything to do with this incident. Why go on a wild goose chase?

Lets see. perhaps he is part of a far left domestic terrorist group like the old weathermen and this firebombing is only the beginning. Think knowing who did this and his political affiliations may be helpful?

That seems like something pretty far-fetched to be making assumptions about. Perhaps we should wait and see what the details are on this before we start making such wild assumptions.

So where would you start looking?

Look, Palin lost handily, and became a futureless national joke even before she lost.
Nobody on the Left hates her.
And if we did, we'd go after her, not the Wasilla Bible Church.

This is blind stupidity....the vitriol for her from the left is legend.

I'm sorry, but how does it matter what the political affiliation of the perpetrator(s) is? It's obvious that no political ideology would advocate such behavior. I don't know why people continue to try to pin the actions of extremists to religions, ideologies, etc. that they don't agree with in a pathetic attempt of one-upmanship over them.

It does seem kind of odd that out of all the millions of churches and regular buildings around the country and the thousands of buildings in Palin's hometown that someone would specifically target the church that Palin went to. To say there is no potential correlation is ludicrous. There had to be some motivating factor behind the arsonist choosing their target.

I'm sure the motivating factor is that they attend it.
or that they used to attend it, and became disgruntled with it for some reason.
And I doubt there are, actually, "thousands" of buildings in Wasilla.
Hundreds, perhaps. if you count residences.

I don't think it is at all unsurprising. Whoever did it, for whatever reasons, would be unlikely to be unaware that more attention would be paid because of Palin's association with the congregation. Fame attracts tangential attention getting behavior. But, the person could just as easily be a former member of the congregation as any other type, and still have been partially motivated by the potential for enhanced attention.

From what i read in an AP report dated 59 minutes ago, they don't know for sure that it is arson yet.
They suspect the fire may have been deliberately set, but they don't know that it was. It could've been accidental. An investigation is underway.
This is Alaska in December, after all.
I assume they have to run all sorts of heaters, and maybe some are safer than others.

All they've said is that it 'may have been deliberately set', now? That's true of any fire where the investigation is incomplete. And with the news media's desire to sell advertising, they could spin it any way they want for the time being. We should never forget the media's bias toward the sensational, especially this early in a story's unfolding.

You'd think such an individual would've been noticed, skulking around the streets of Wasilla with a gas can.
