But is this because Obama is really doing a good job, or is there another reason? I think the following quote from the article answers this question:

"An Obama job approval rating of 79 percent -- that's the sort of rating you see when the public rallies around a leader after a national disaster," said Bill Schneider, CNN's senior political analyst. "To many Americans, the Bush administration was a national disaster."
However, I am pleasantly surprised that Obama has acted as a centrist so far, and not gone out into left field, like I expected.

Article is here.

This is good.

What makes you think he is a centrist? I think he is also, I just want to know what your thoughts are on it? :)

I don't see why you would've thought he'd "go into left field". He's always been a centrist, although his appointments have been incredibly right-wing so I would argue he isn't "being a centrist".

We'll see what happens when he actually takes office.

Secretary of state.

So you don't agree with his choice? Alright well then that's a **** up I guess.

Not denouncing hot rod from the get go.

Can you show what he had to do with Rod Blagojevich's problem? Show he knew about it before the allegations came through. If not then retract. Thanks!

Thats right off the top of my head.

Oh alright. Well then.

Actually, Many don't. I could care less as its poo or crap....

Just pointing out what others are saying.

As the leader elect of this great nation, one would think he would be the 1st to come out and condemn hot rod....

Oh alright. Well then.

 I see you edited out the personal attack. Smart move. :2wave:

Yeah and that's a **** up because? What? He gave it a day before he said anything? Yep that's sure a **** up there rev. It's funny how you think such minuscule **** is 'a **** up'. She's a drama queen draaaaaaaaaaaaama queen.

 I see you edited out the personal attack. Smart move. :2wave:

Huh? It was too nice and I couldn't come up with anything more damaging.

Right Wing? o_O

Rom Emanuel? Hillary Clinton? Explain to me this is "incredibly right-wing"

Are you feeling ok?

Seriously....

I believe it was three. That is two days, 23 hours and 53 minutes longer than you people gave bush when he reacted to something.

More personal attacks? Perhaps you should learn some self control.

 this speaks for itself.

And he hasn't even had the chance to **** anything up yet!
Actually yes he has, on all too many an issues already, he's been dancing around the sidelines - all too vague.
Don't know if it's his way of dealing with these issues, whether or not he's too busy preparing with interviews for his cabinet, or something else. But Barny Frank put it fairly well

But indeed, he inject himself and he may get burnt and doing what he's doing now, 79% approve of him.

Barney Fud is one of the primary reasons why we HAVE a mortgage mess. That donktard needs to learn when to STFU.

And it's not just because he sounds like he has a **** in his mouth.

What has he done other than pick a cabinet?

Media sheep....
Maybe he picked his nose. I don't suppose Bush should get some credit for a good transition?

Anyone find the actual polling data, yet? Given my perception of the general ignorance of the public with regards to presidential transitions, I'd be interested to see if the poll asked respondents about their level of interest in the transition, how closely they had been paying attention to news about the transition, etc. With the approval number at 79% I am skeptical about the poll asking such questions.

I think that asking such questions would reveal a very low level interest and very low level of attention paid to the transition.

Only thing I see here is partisanship from both sides. If the roles were reversed, and the President Elect were a Republican, the comments would be mirrored. It'd be nice if someone commented on things that were pertinent, rather than basing their decision on whether they liked or didn't like some of his choices.

And I have a few questions for Hatuey and the Reverend.

Hatuey, what exactly do you think Obama has done that shows that he is handling the transition well?

Reverend, what about choosing Hillary as Secretary of State do you not like?

And, as a side note, Reverend. If you give a pass to Bush for 9/11, which I certainly do, one would hope that you would be consistent and not get on Obama for his waiting to condemn the Illinois governor...comparatively, something far less serious and less involving of the President.

As far as my opinion, I think Obama has done well with his transition, but not because of his cabnet choices...and I disagree with him choosing Hillary at State. I think he has handled his transition well because he has gotten involved in as many issues, and is gathering as much information around those issues, so that when he takes office, he is prepared. This is what needs to occur during a transition, so when he becomes President, this occurs smoothly.

and what proof do you have of this, the highlighted portion of course?

I asked if Bush should get some credit for the transition success. If you can't address that question admit it, but don't criticize the question.

I've read lots of news stories on the information he is gathering on both the economic situation and the conflicts in the Middle East. He has met with Bush around these issues, also. He's not just sitting around, waiting to get sworn in.

No reason to get so defensive. Not only was I not referring specifically to you, I didn't see your question, nor did I address anything you said. Calm down.

Yes, I think Bush should get some credit, too. Rather than playing idiotic partisan games, he has been a professional and has assisted with Obama's transition.
