You get what you pay for. The idea of the ACA was to get health coverage to those of higher risk and less income by spreading that cost among the many who can better afford both financially and by those using the health system less, thus reducing claims cost. That’s the entire idea of insurance. The article you are citing is what I have been arguing all along. Without accomplishing what I described, the plan will fail. Without making the ACA just like Medicare, a mandatory payment, whether by taxes or individual payments to the government, it will fail. The younger, healthy people find the gamble worth it to not buy insurance, risk having to pay their own medical costs, or have to pay penalty costs should they join an ACA plan later. The argument about whether the ACA or the insurer is responsible for pulling a plan on a policyholder is a diminutive comparison to the concern of the plan’s failure to enroll the right mix of risk. With what Trump is doing, he is throwing more straw on the camel’s back. You can’t expect to give more to more people than before and not have everybody’s costs to go up and/or charge more people than before.

That's not how it was sold. That's not what happened and the plan was a disaster.

The real idea of Obamacare, was to collapse the system, forcing a complete government take over. A Democrat President would look like the savior of the nation. For a Republican President, it was a political booby trap.

The stupid - it burns.

When 2 disputing parties argue for their respective sides - whether in a court case or elsewhere - they each present their opposing viewpoints and their opposing sets of facts. Leftards don't seem to get the basics and are trying to fuss over semantics. Anything to gin up a controversy.

It was the near collapse of the privatized system that led to the government intervention of the ACA to begin with. It was not a complete takeover. But it was in the direction of a government mandated system, much like Medicare. Obamacare was not meant "to collapse the system". It was meant to save a collapsing system.

The only booby trap for an incoming Republican President is a low unemployment rate, a rising average income, the highest GDP in history, the highest after-tax corporate profits, as a percentage of GDP, since 1928, the lowest corporate taxes since 1928 and an annual budget deficit that has been decreasing, except one year, since 2009. That's a booby trap if I ever say one.

The unemployment rate is fake. Obama's regime cooked the books.

Interesting explanation.

Seems to me that a savvy attorney might simply say "I didn't mean that, sorry, of course their is no such thing as alternative facts, what i meant was...." She is the queen of "what [Trump] meant was", surely she could applied the skill for herself.

I think she was doing all she could do from not showing her blushing as she know she was espousing BS, but that is what she is paid to do: carry Trump's sewage water.

Read my other posts in this thread before you attribute things to me that are not true nor even close to accurate.

You are acting like a Troll. You make accusation without any facts to back up what you say. What is fake about the unemployment rate? What about the unemployment rate is any different than under other presidents? What did "Obama's regime" do that "cooked the books"?

Many times I think you cite reports without much understanding of them... an aging population doesn't mean Obama's team cooked the books... :doh

The 'report' you cite is amazingly light on numbers (gee imagine that) One interesting way of looking at this is the participation percentage started it's fall under BushII, and accelerated, as the report states during the Great Recession, starting as BushII claimed the economy is sound and this is just a bump in the road...

Three things are cited, not one is Obama 'cooking the books'

Nice try though.... :peace

Retirees aren't counted in that number. I'm not surprised you didn't know that.

Retirees aren't counted in that number. I'm not surprised you didn't know that.

And yet your report cites that very fact- surprised you didn't read the link... :peace

Re: Kellyanne Conway says Donald Trump’s team has ‘alternative facts.’ Which pretty m

Your link does not prove that the present unemployment rate is fake. Or that Obama cooked the books. Or that the unemployment rate is being calculated any differently that under previous administrations. What you are trying to say is “While the unemployment rate may be down, the labor participation rate is the worst in 38 years.” What you have done is:

Made a claim that you could not support with any pertinent fact, but with facts not even germane to your claim.

BTW, since an unemployment rate of 9.9% in 2009, it has come down each year to 4.7% year-end 2016. The employment rate had dropped to 58.3% as of 2009, the number of employed persons has climbed each year since and the rate is now 59.7% year-end 2016.

Re: Kellyanne Conway says Donald Trump’s team has ‘alternative facts.’ Which pretty m

Let me get this straight. The ONLY lies anyone can point out as lies are those Trump's enemies determine to be lies uttered by Trump. There are no other lies than those, is that what you're saying?

No. Trump tells demonstrable lies, then contradicts himself. One of those contradictory statements HAS to be untrue (a lie) but most of his supporters do exactly what you are doing.
