WASHINGTON — The FBI and five other law enforcement and intelligence agencies have collaborated for months in an investigation into Russian attempts to influence the November election, including whether money from the Kremlin covertly aided President-elect Donald Trump, two people familiar with the matter said.

The agencies involved in the inquiry are the FBI, the CIA, the National Security Agency, the Justice Department, the Treasury Department's Financial Crimes Enforcement Network and representatives of the director of national intelligence, the sources said.
Investigators are examining how money may have moved from the Kremlin to covertly help Trump win, the two sources said. One of the allegations involves whether a system for routinely paying thousands of Russian-American pensioners may have been used to pay some email hackers in the United States or to supply money to intermediaries who would then pay the hackers, the two sources said. <snip>

[Obligatory Fake News Comment]

In the mind of a Trump supporter, all you have to do is hold out another couple days and Trump will replace all the people who agree with the assessment that Russia steered our election with people who say otherwise.

Wait, wait, wait....I thought the hackers were a elite group of super-duper KBG Russian hackers, not that Russia just outsourced the hacking. They have to get their stories straight.

Who cares.....

Lots of folks go fishing.

If and when fish are caught I might or might not be interested.

Why would Russia need to pay Americans to hack things? I realize the article mentions plausible deniability, but if you leave a money trail why would that even matter?

So. Who didn't see this coming?

I don't believe it. But thanks anyway.

Be honest: if the FBI busted into a room with both Putin and Trump in the process of hacking election machines, would you really have cared? Answer honestly.

Looks like you might have been wrong, but best wait until the investigation is done.

Yes.

Have you never met a reality based guy before?

Seems so.

You say yes, but don't care about things that are confirmed that he did, so please pardon my skepticism.

Once I see more evidence in the case then fine.

But as this stands I give it as much credibility as the unnamed sources in the FBI that worked close to the Clinton investigation who leaked her indictment was coming in a few days.

I care, but dont rate the importance as high as others do, we can argue over it.

I am also a stickler for justice, I say that the one making the charge either proves the charge or else I stop listening to the charge.

"I feel like so and so is guilty" gets no where with me.

See what coming? oh... you just read the headlines....#fakenews

"WASHINGTON — The FBI and five other law enforcement and intelligence agencies have collaborated for months in an investigation into Russian attempts to influence the November election, including whether money from the Kremlin covertly aided President-elect Donald Trump, two people familiar with the matter said."

for months.....

recycled news to trick you into thinking something new is happening.

 they even bring up the golden showers guy again:

"The informal, inter-agency working group began to explore possible Russian interference last spring, long before the FBI received information from a former British spy hired to develop politically damaging and unverified research about Trump, according to the sources, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitive nature of the inquiry."

you gotta read this **** first man..,..

As I said, you don't care when things are confirmed, so it's difficult to understand what kind of moral compass you're operating with, exactly.

Certainly the problem is that you dont pay enough attention to me.

So. Who didn't see this coming?

They better work quickly, they have like two days before they're all fired.

I just hope they either find that the nothing was actually hacked or find those guilty and stick some justice on their arse. FYI, this is not as much about trump as Russians attempting to hack into our systems and we are no only talking for election purposes, think about your electrical grid going down for weeks or even months. So this is what they are doing then we need to react in kind and while at it ensure that our systems are as safe as they can be made. We are talking National Security here folks, the election is a done deal and it is highly doubtful anything will be discovered that would change the outcome so forget that idea and I doubt that is the purpose of the investigations. Just one final thought, like it or not all these agencies would not be doing this if there was not some serious smoke in the air.

What's been confirmed?

Trump conned at least 6000 people (the number of people represented in the class action lawsuit) to the tune of $35,000 each for a total of 210 million dollars for his Trump University scam. He sold the university on the premise that they would learn his real estate secrets from his personally hand-picked instructors. He had no relationship with the instructors and the customers lost tens of thousands of dollars each for nothing. In fact, even when they did receive real information, they could expect to learn to commit illegal behavior. However, Trump University wasn't finished with them quite yet. There is the 98% approval rating Trump famously touted. What he did not elaborate on was that the customers were made to write non-anonymous reviews before they were allowed to received their worthless degrees (T.U. was not an accredited university) or receive extra help from instructors, which is basically the equivalent of being told at a restaurant that you won't receive your car keys back from the valet until you write a Yelp review while the manager is watching you write it. Only, the latter is nowhere near as bad, because if you did decide to write a terrible Yelp reviewer after the fact at least you'd have your car back. If the students announced after the fact that the University was a scam then they'd be broadcasting that the fake degree they just paid $35,000 for was worthless.

Huh? I'm not the one that was saying that. That's what we were told.

Like I said, what was confirmed?

Good.

Let all the investigations get completed as quickly as possible.

If there was collusion, then put the guilty in jail, sanction the hell out of Russia and Putin, then seize their assets to pay for the cost of the investigation and trial.

If there was no collusion, then require the people making these claims to pay the bill for the cost of the investigations.
