Obama approval hits 60% as end of term approaches - CNNPolitics.com

A new CNN/ORC poll finds Obama's approval rating stands at 60%, his best mark since June of his first year in office. Compared with other outgoing presidents, Obama lands near the top of the list, outranked only by Bill Clinton's 66% in January 2001 and Ronald Reagan's 64% in January 1989. About two-thirds (65%) say Obama's presidency was a success, including about half (49%) who say that was due to Obama's personal strengths rather than circumstances outside his control.

This is the breaking news section, I hope this is ok, given it's #fakenews.... Once again:

"
METHODOLOGYA total of 1,000 adults were interviewed by telephone nationwide by live interviewers calling both landline and cell phones.Among the entire sample, 32% described themselves as Democrats, 24% described themselves as Republicans, and 44%described themselves as independents or members of another party. All respondents were asked questions concerning basic demographics, and the entire sample was weighted to reflectnational Census figures for gender, race, age, education, region of country, and telephone usage.Crosstabs on the following pages only include results for subgroups with enough unweighted cases to produce a samplingerror of +/- 8.5 percentage points or less. Some subgroups represent too small a share of the national population to producecrosstabs with an acceptable sampling error. Interviews were conducted among these subgroups, but results for groupswith a sampling error larger than +/-8.5 percentage points are not displayed and instead are denoted with "NA"."

So even by once again stacking the deck by using the same polling peoples they got for the other poll, they got what they were looking for.

Does ANYONE really believe Obama's actual approval rating is 60%?

Does ANYONE really believe Obama's actual approval rating is 60%?

Sure. Given the contrast between his measured, intelligent and nuanced approach and Trump's series of bullying tantrums disguised as tweets... it is easy to understand why so many in our nation see beyond partisanship and approve of Obama.

CNN does not have a.credible poll

Yes. Though to be fair it would probably be a little lower if the person he was being contrasted with wasn't such a perfect example of human garbage.

I'm not among the 60% but I can believe it is that high. We just finished a brutal election campaign that came down to the two least popular candidates in US history. Both of whom were battling highly publicized scandals. They made Obama look pretty damn good by comparison.

Really? if his approval was that high, do you think Hillary would have actually lost?

They sampled more democrats than republicans, they don't say where in the country they polled the "independents". do you REALLY believe this poll?

What makes him. "human garbage", I have to ask. Specifically. Now if you said a bombastic arrogant blowhard. I would have no argument..... but this. I want to know.

Presidential candidates win on being charismatic, and Clinton had literally no charisma. The country screwed up by not voting for her, because the fact that she got this far in spite of being the least likable person in history essentially means that she had an IQ of a billion.

She was a criminal, who operated a fake "foundation", violated national security laws, and was in the pocket of wall street. The country didn't screw up. your party snapped defeat from the jaws of victory. She GOT that far by RIGGING the primaries, and the fix was in with the super delegates.... come on man. You have to see this.

I mean it's not as if CNN is the only poll that says that.

It's only that high because people feel a sense of euphoria knowing the clock is winding down and the nightmare is ending as Obama packs his U-Haul to move to... Yup, Palm Springs - California's Davos. The playground of California's idle and mostly retired rich and loony elite. The golf course actually has "Depends" vending machines in the rest rooms.

Obama's going to love it. And so will America. Spock has returned to Planet Vulcan.

Uh huh. If you were to apply the same standards to Trump that you're applying to Clinton, you would be crying for his imprisonment.

I, for one, hope she starts suing people who lie about her.

If you don't like that poll, you can try Rasmussen Reports:

CNN polls are fake and not worthy of comment

Im not at all surprised his polling numbers are high. 1-I do think Trump makes him look good by comparison. Obama was every bit as thin skinned as Trump...he was just better at his responses. 2-People will forever give him a pass based on who and what he is...not the job he has done. His legislative efficiency rating was pretty dismal. He has done nothing but create damage regarding race relations. His centerpiece achievement is a trainwreck. His foreign policy was a joke. But the kids love him. I think an article ran in the LA Times was very telling. No..he didnt help the black community (in fact the black community is the only segment of society that is measurably worse off) but hey...we cant throw shade because he was the first black president.

Not surprised by the poll results...at all.

I'm also not surprised by the Trump polling. He makes himself such an easy target AND the leftists have a coordinated constant blitz against him (going so far as to trash black people that have dared to meet with Trump to discuss a way ahead in helping the black community).

Considering that every poll has him sitting in the high fifties approval, it looks like you're going to have to go to Hot Air or Breitbart to be spoonfed the numbers you'd prefer to see.
