Head of D.C. National Guard to be removed from post in middle of inauguration

Heh...remember three days ago when people were literally ****ting themselves over the Trump teams decision to replace that one guy that no one knew about before, couldnt think of his name now if they had to, and no one has given two thoughts about since and replaced him as the announcer for the inauguration?

Oh the horror. Oh the injustice.

Wait...what WAS that guys name? Cant recall...we just know it was really really super duper important.

Trump also does not trust the Secret Service and wants to set up his own PRIVATE "SS" to guard him (and throw out press people he doesn't like too). It sounds like advice from Putin to me.

They are not armed, they do not interact with the SS, and the SS considers them guest services not security....

After reading the article it appears the general resigned...as is customary...and Army officials indicated they felt it was appropriate to accept his resignation and replace him, that the replacement has been named and will step in without any lack of leadership.

Why is this a big deal again?

"Truuuuuuuuuuuump! Oh my God! Truuuuuuuuuump!...raaaaaaaaacist!"

You know that General Schwartz was relieved because he's black, right?

I am also wondering whether "that salute" from the campaign will return at the inauguration. It is really surreal to see how far Republicans will go to get their draconian "reforms" to protect the billionaires.

From the performance of the Secret Service in recent years; who could blame President Trump for not trusting them?

It has everything to do with your condemnations.

the Army pushed to replace him.
How badly did the Army want to get rid of this buffoon if they'd be willing to have him retire right in the middle of hovaing his troops deployed? This guy must be particularly awful.

Holy ****, that is some ****ed up **** there.

We could sit down with a case of beer and twelve hours while I told you true stories that I witnessed or was involved in the investigations and I still wouldn't be able to get through all of them. We had a lesbian LTC sexually assault another femal officer and they tried to cover it up. I know a LTC that tried to rob a bank, fell off the counter of the bank, broke her ankle and they kept her in until she could make her 20 years. We had a guy that sold 4 Army turbine helicopter engines out of our hanger. He sold one to a Sheriff department. We had the FBI up our ass for two years, every day, in our office going through our records, during that investigation. That is a minuscule example of the crap that used to go on.

It's posts like this that solidify my belief that I shouldn't take your posts seriously.

They are really a mess too, them and the FBI I think were the last two little pockets to hold out against elite incompetence and making everything about the show (politics) rather than the work(managing the country).

The swamp won.

The Army had no say or authority in the general's position. He falls under Congress and the president.

Ya but if Trump dies when the elite left a known incompetent in this position it would look bad.

State National Guards are too small and too geographically compact for them not to be rife with political bull****.

My brother retired from the Louisiana Guard. He's told me stories that left me speechless about the NG's numbers game.

I am not reading through all that mess while trying to figure out what you might be referring to. Do you realize that the Army National Guard and the Army are separate entities?

Are you familiar with The National Guard Bureau? General Schwartz has a chain of command just like any other soldier.

It can be a racket. It wasn't unusual to have two federal investigations going on at one time in a facility.

You are still talking riddles. I am talking about how a general becomes a general in the National Guard (political appointee) and the lack of authority that the Army has over that general (political appointee of the governor (COC of that same state) of any particular state). Schwartz is appointed, the same as any other TAG. He is the TAG for the DC guard so he is appointed by the President rather than a governor because DC isn't a state. Therefore the Army has very little authority or say over him. The Army didn't make him a general. The president did, with federal recognition from the Congress. A TAG can actually be a general in their own state and not be a general when they leave their state if Congress does not give them federal recognition.

I'm talking about how the TAG answers to the The Chief of The National Guard Bureau. The Army absolutely made him a general. Congress only approved the promotion and the president appointed General Schwartz as the TAG. Even a TAG has a chain of command and his chain of command doesn't begin with The President. The only general with that distinction is the chairman of the Joint Chiefs.

Study it and then don't get back to me. You know absolutely nothing about the subject. Your post is about 100% wrong. You made five claims and every ****ing one of them is totally erroneous. Amazing. The only one you almost got right is where you say, "Congress only approved the TAG and the president appointed General Schwartz as the TAG." That was backwards however. He was appointed, promoted and then the promotion was recognized by the Congress. We had a general that the governor promoted. Congress never recognized (approved) the promotion. While he was in the state he was a general. When he left the state he was a colonel. When he came back to the state he was a general again. He never was paid as a general but in the governor's army (National Guard) in the state he was a general.

First off, when you quote me, quote me accurately.

Second, what I said was on time and on target.

Third, what you described is unlikely. A governer doesn't have the authority to promote an officer, not even to a brevet rank. Even a brevet rank carries the pay and authoritybof that rank.

He was reappointed by Obama.

Yes Obama had the brains to understand continuity in government. Does not change the fact, that Obama saw that the man was doing a good job despite being put in that job by the second worst president in US history.. (Yes Trump is the worst).

The TAG for the D.C. National Guard isn't a part of the government.
