One of the worst picks for his cabinent IMO policy wise is General Michael Flynn. Of course, most anybody associated with RTV is a bad egg in my book, so when he first started on the campaign trail for Trump, I didn't like it one bit.

"Christmas Day, Gen. Flynn reached out to the ambassador, sent him a text and it said, 'I want to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I look forward to touching base with you and working with you, and I wish you all the best.' The ambassador texted him back wishing him a Merry Christmas as well," Spicer said.

You can't pretend now that it's all nicety nice... But of course the Trump supporters will fail to make the connections staring at them right in the face.

Sorry, most rational people don't believe Russia is the boogie man and that we need to have better relations so this dog isn't going to hunt.

Sounds to me like Flynn is a go getter who cares, and has enough sense to talk to the people that matter.

Also sounds to me like Trump made a good choice.

GO AMERICA!

Being cordial doesn't bother me. While I'm no fan of Flynn (and I worked for the man) such niceties are common between senior military officers and diplomats.

The connection that the future National Security Advisor talks to people in other countries?

The really funny part of your post is where you say, "Don't believe me? Here's the story from August." Then you link CNN. :lamo

Um no I linked to a Washington Post story that talked about how Russia TV thinks they are like CNN! Did you even read the article?

It seems that plenty of people within Trump's orbit have been associated with Russia TV and other elements of Putin's propaganda apparatus.
How many people here at DP do you think realize that Assange was an employee there as recently as 2012?

It's funny because Russia TV mostly criticizes the US especially our foreign policy. It's not that they want to simply question us, it's that they want to delegitimize our values and replace them with theirs. Most libertarians often side with Russia TV because Ron Paul goes on there frequently too. Oftentimes people ask, if not us who will lead world in foreign policy. Well I always say. Would you rather have Russia doing it? And to a libertarian nothing is more sacred than someone bringing down the military industrial complex which is why Assange is seen as a Hero to them and Hannity worshipers a like.

I don't think that's the point. The point is, while the president is acting in behalf of the US with regard to this hacking business, Trump's people are in contact with Russia...? Something's very wrong in that timing, and who's to say that Flynn wasn't giving Russia reassurances behind our country's back?

Can you just imagine of Obama had done something like this with, say Iran before HE took office? It's just outrageous.

Yeah that's exactly my point. Last week, people were actually saying that there are no connections between Russia and Trump because Trump said so, and they tried their hardest to excuse away the report from CNN because according to them, it's an obvious conspiracy theory to bring down Trump. If Trump did have conversations with Russia, he was just being nice to them.

Now, it's looking like a little more than just being nice. If Obama had sent a Merry Christmas message to the Iranians, I think some of the people on here would have self-destructed.

And many of us believe too many on the right are hyper-partisan enough to prefer a Russian Stooge as President if that is the only way they can win.

Since all this took place after the election, how is it some kind of shocking revelation?

All of us believe that the the Left is just pissy because Clinton lost.

It isn't shocking it is totally in line with the info about Trump and Russia that we have. That is what the concern is. That the Trump administration takes its orders from Putin.

Yep. Trump is the king of fake news these days and he's going to use twitter and the media to confuse the hell out of everybody so that no one knows what he's doing. He didn't have press conference, it was the Donald Trump Show. The right-wing is so contradictory that it's nauseating.

What information do you have, exactly? So far, I haven't seen anything incriminating.

Obama was already president, and HIS foreign policy included a more friendly approach to Russia. Obama didn't call up Russian officials during his campaign or before his inauguration. So your "links" have nothing to do with what we're talking about here.

Yeah, it was ok for Obama to make friends with Putin. How about Putin's endorsement of Obama before the election? I bet you thought that was wonderful.

OH BS abst! You have no idea what you're talking about. How'z about posting relevant substance instead of mindless denial.

Righta it was perfectly acceptable when Obama promised the Russians, "more flexibility", after the election.

How's that red line working out?
