It wasn't a terrorist attack. It was homegrown. Seems that he wasn't a Timothy McVeigh type either, but an ex-military who went off the reservation and nutted out.

News report was he flew from Alaska to Florida. They often stop in Canada to pick up passegers.

No one at this time with maybe the exeception of the FBI and Police close to the investigation knows what his motive was

As far as I know they can. What docs are needed I do not know.

Dont know if anyone mentioned this yet, but (according to news) the gun was in baggage that he brought with him on the plane, he took it out in bathroom, and started shooting. Gun free zone for the rest of the people in the airport. Florida law prohibits carrying in the terminal, and our leg is considering a bill allowing it.

No docs required by the TSA; only a TSA approved gun case.

Just saw this on CNN. They made it greyscale. My guess is to lighten his skin color.

I don't know...

Evidently there is a photo of him wearing a Palestinian style scarf while pointing upwards (ISIS salute of their "heavenly" inspiration). Though he could still be a nut who latched on to symbols with out knowing why, the fact that he is wearing the scarf and making the symbol as opposed to just say, posting photos of "cool" looking IRA fighters on social media makes me think otherwise.

I put my gun in checked baggage before and I just told them it was there.

The suspect joined the National Guard in Puerto Rico in 2007. In April 2010, he went to Iraq for 10 months. A spokeswoman for the Alaska Army National Guard said Santiago was in the Army Reserves before he joined the guard there in November 2014. Lt. Col. Candis Olmstead said Santiago was discharged in August for unsatisfactory performance.

The suspect showed up several months ago at the FBI office in Anchorage, law enforcement officials told CNN. He was interviewed and said he was hearing voices in his head, including some telling him to join ISIS. He was taken to a hospital for a mental health evaluation, the officials said. He voluntarily checked himself in, the officials explained.
