Kellyanne will be whispering in Trump's ear for the next four years. She'll officially be the most powerful woman in the Trump administration and it's the third most powerful job in the WH.

(CNN)President-elect Donald Trump tapped former campaign manager Kellyanne Conway as "counselor to the president," the presidential transition team announced Thursday morning.

She is smart as a whip, that one. Saw her interviewed on Fox this morning. I may be getting the gist of this a bit wrong . . . A news outlet tweeted that, "Wow, four kids and she'd going to have time for this?" The source was Tweeted off planet earth by others for that sexist remark.

The subject was raised during her Fox interview and she said, "Well, I have my lovely family and I have my job. Like lots of other women. I must admit I have more time than MANY men, though. I don't play golf, and I don't have a mistress."

I'm gunna like her...

I've always admired KellyAnne. She is one smart lady. Good for her. I think, too, that Trump actually listens to her, which is a wise move on his part. She knows what she's doing.

That's wonderful news.... and btw, she earned it.

I love how the feminist movement has ignored her achievements, not the least of being the first woman presidential campaign manager to win an election. Oh well, Republican women don't count. Why should they?

She earned the right to be in Trump's ear to remind the President-elect what he owes her employer- hedge fund manager and mega-donor Robert Mercer. She's already bought and paid for.

I'm not surprised. She was the MVP of the Trump campaign.

This was one of the best picks he could make. She was a key factor in the strategy of Trump's campaign. She is sharp and knows how to deal with the rhetoric. Not sure what her gender has to do with it. So far he has put together a blue ribbon bunch of folks for his cabinet.

This certainly looks like hypocrisy in mainstream feminism.

Considering she enabled the victory of a candidate who bragged of his ability to sexually assault women, no one should be surprised that she has not been lauded by feminists.

Re: Kellyanne Conway lands top WH job in Trump administration

It's pretty common practice to land a WH job after campaigning like that. I expected Trump to follow common political practices all along, so this neither surprises nor concerns me.

I didn't vote for Trump and I don't minimize his flaws, but those should not not, IMHO, detract from her achievement.

I don't necessarily disagree with you. She did an effective job in a tough situation.
I'm just pointing out why she isn't embraced in the manner in which you (and others) feel she deserves.

PS: I know you didn't vote for Trump. We've already had that exchange.

Fair enough. She may have done more than an effective job. I had a conversation recently with someone who knows the players. He said she and Jared Kushner saw potential others had overlooked in the Repubs' data mining & micro-targeting operation created by Reince Priebus. Their focus drove the late campaign offensive in Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania. If that's true I'm sure it will find its way into someone's book.

Never mind Hillary's husband, who rivals Bill Cosby.

I love how she said she needed to raise her children, was not going to take a WH job....poor kids.

Anyone who is shocked never understood Trump....He LOVES working with women, and he LOVES to promote women.

She never dreamed that Trump would reward her good work and loyalty with the #3 job in the WH.

Pretty much nobody has ever said "No" to that.

Lay off.

GFY, I can point out her hypocrisy anytime I want to. She turned down the WH Spox position to spend more time raising her very young children, and that was a lower level of involvement than "#3".

Apparently, the kids don't matter so much now.

Are you referring to the "Grab them by the *****" comment? If so you do realize there was more to that right? Where he stated "they let you do it" . I could be wrong but it sounds like he is saying they consented to it which would pretty much means it was not sexual assault. We can argue if that is the type of comments we want our President to be making and the language he was using was insensitive or politically correct but taking part of his comments like the MSM has and portraying him as this racist, sexist, Hitler 2.0 character is largely disingenuous.

Wouldn't this be more of a case of her changing her mind?

Re: Kellyanne Conway lands top WH job in Trump administration

(CNN)Kellyanne Conway, the campaign manager who steadfastly defended Donald Trump through a series of controversies at the end of his campaign, said in a pair of recent interviews she will not serve as his administration's top spokesman.

Conway told conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt on Monday she turned down the job of press secretary, traditionally the most visible staff role in the White House.
"I have politely declined that job, Hugh," she said. "I think it's an incredibly important position to fill."
Conway first revealed the job offer -- and her decision to turn it down -- in an interview on Friday with The New York Times. She said she might instead work outside the White House steering a network of political organizations supporting Trump and his priorities. Her role there could be be a unique blend of confidant, operative and surrogate, she said.
The demanding hours and workload of a senior position inside the White House appear to have been forefront on her mind. In the Times interview, Conway described her children as the "greatest consideration of what to do next."
"Before I can accept that job, I have to recognize that I'm a mother of four children who are at very tender, very fraught ages -- 12, 12, 8 and 7 -- and I can't just say, 'Oh, but they'll be OK,'" she reasoned. "Someone else will take care of them."
She has urged her male colleagues to consider the demands before taking White House jobs, too, asking if they would be comfortable with their spouses in the same post.
"You really see their entire visage change. It's like, 'Oh, no' -- they wouldn't want their wife to take that job," she explained at an event hosted by Politico.

Speaking at Politico's Women Rule Summit last week, Conway said that, as a mother of four, taking a White House job is a "bad idea, bad idea, bad idea, bad idea."
