More than two-thirds of registered voters do not want President Obama to pardon Hillary Clinton before he leaves office next month, according to a Fox News poll released Thursday evening.

The poll said 68 percent of respondents who were asked from Dec. 11-13 say the Democratic president should not forgive his former secretary of state for potential crimes she may have committed in connection with the Clinton Foundation or by using a private email server in her residence. Less than one-quarter of voters, 23 percent, want Obama to help the unsuccessful 2016 Democratic nominee before President-elect Trump takes office.

Even Clinton supporters overwhelmingly do not want Obama to let Clinton off for alleged wrongdoings. Nearly half of her backers said he should not give her a way out, possibly because she is viewed as innocent. Forty percent said he should help her. Meanwhile, 87 percent of Trump supporters said he should not pardon her.
Voters oppose Clinton pardon by 3-1 margin | Washington Examiner

I sure will be glad when January 20th gets here.

If Donald Trump is smart, he will let Hillary Clinton fade into irrelevancy, rather than trying to get her thrown into prison.

Plus, Trump has already said he's not gonna go after her, despite his promise during his campaign that he would (imagine that).

It isn't his job to go after her. I think there is pressure on Obama to issue a pardon. Stuck between a rock and a hard spot.

Hard to understand how Obama could pardon Clinton. She has not been found guilty of anything, in court. Nor is she currently under investigation. If she is pardon, Obama would have to state what she is pardoned for. He can't just give a get out of jail free card for any possible prosecutions in the future.

The link to the poll doesn't work. What was the question, "should Obama pardon Hillary"? Of course her supporters are split between "why not" and "no need".

If there's pressure on Obama to issue a pardon, I haven't seen it. Regardless, it's most likely not going to happen at all.

Especially since she hasn't even been charged with a crime.

Do you have any evidence to back up your thought? Or is it just a hunch?

Are these the same pollsters that gave Hillary a similar margin to beat Trump in the election?

As per the article, it's a Fox News poll.

The link from the Examiner article is bad, but going to www.foxnews.com/polls, I can't find anything on this.

Fox Nation (which is hosted by Fox News' website but is pretty much all submitted or linked material) links to the Washington Examiner story. There's no other source for it.

The pollsters cited in the WE article (Anderson Robbins, and Shaw and Company Research) either say nothing on their websites (in the case of AR) or don't have a website (in the case of Shaw). I can't find anything legitimate to prove this poll even exists.

Well, that is pretty important! People oppose something very unlikely to happen. Talk about trying to manufacture news...

I didn't know that this issue had been settled. I wonder if Obama issues her a pardon or gambles that Sessions doesn't move forward with an investigation.

Nixon was never convicted. Conviction isn't necessary.

I think it's a gamble. If he doesn't she could be vulnerable. If she wants to go forward with a future in politics she would probably avoid a pardon. If she thinks Sessions would proceed with an investigation on the Foundation or her campaign for coordinating with super PACs then she would want a pardon.

Yes he can, have you read the pardon Ford gave Nixon?

have granted and by these presents do grant a full, free, and absolute pardon unto Richard Nixon for all offenses against the United States which he, Richard Nixon, has committed or may have committed or taken part in during the period from January 20, 1969 through August 9, 1974

I think this is a contrived story. I think Obama pardoning Clinton is not, and never was, an issue.
It's all a crock,in other words. Who do you think is pressuring Obama?

Apparently Jesse Jackson, to which I say (and Obama should say) "so what"? The ol' rev has been irrelevant for quite some time.

So now we believe in polls again?

We will see in about 8 weeks.

Do you often wonder about stupid **** like that?
