"The CIA has concluded in a secret assessment that Russia intervened in the 2016 election to help Donald Trump win the presidency, rather than just to undermine confidence in the U.S. electoral system, according to officials briefed on the matter.

Intelligence agencies have identified individuals with connections to the Russian government who provided WikiLeaks with thousands of hacked emails from the Democratic National Committee and others, including Hillary Clinton’s campaign chairman, according to U.S. officials. Those officials described the individuals as actors known to the intelligence community and part of a wider Russian operation to boost Trump and hurt Clinton’s chances.

What's with the purity thing as of late? RINOs...aka people who don't think exactly like me so they can't actually belong properly to my political party. I think it's stupid. The GOP for quite some time billed itself as Big Tent, meaning that it took in all sorts of people and ideologies. Sure, there are limits, but at the same accord it means it's not all white washed, or rather wasn't meant to be all white washed.

But this Purity Brigade stuff flies in the face of the traditional GOP mantra of Big Tent and is excessively closed minded and shallow.

McCain and Graham have been known as RINOs at least a decade of two. This isn't something new.
But this Purity Brigade stuff flies in the face of the traditional GOP mantra of Big Tent and is excessively closed minded and shallow.

If someone claimed to be a democrat but was pro-life,pro-2nd amendment,doesn't believe in man made global warming, opposed minimum wage, opposed amnesty for illegals, supported increased military spending, wanted to cut social security,and generally sided with republicans on lots of other issues then I am pretty you libs would scream that democrat is a phony.

Meh, Purity Brigades always want to label people as outsiders, or not part of the fold. Kind of part and parcel to what the Purity Brigade is all about. But it doesn't mean its true. Purity Brigades tend to be too short sighted in the long run to continue for awhile. Which is why you get more "RINOs" than not, lol.

Remind me again, what exactly was this 'corruption' other than a look at sausage is made? Frankly, given the incredible access the Russians had to the DNC, their "grand revealing" was a massive disappointment. It reminded me of Gelrado opening Capone's vault.

BTW. In the country I am from, the US, we are outraged at 'evidence' that was obtained illegally. It is disregarded in a court of law. We tend to get outraged when people do things illegally and then blame the other person....

Repubs in general who buy into trumps notion that Putin is an ally and the CIA info is to be ignored.. they are doing exactly that. They are aligning with putin, an ex KGB agent, over our own Intel from our CIA. What would you call it?

How so? Please explain and offer support for your assertions.

BTW, the one thing the Trump can not say is "the country felt a certain way" as he neither had a majority of vote or even a plurality in the actual vote. The one thing you lose when you gain only 46% of the vote (27% of the eligible vote) is the right to ascribe any meaning to it other than he is the President-elect.

So, unless you have some poll somewhere to support your assertions, how do you know "the rest of the country felt" a certain way?

You need to read the Podesta emails. I don't have enough space here to post it all. You could start with her campaign coordinating with a super PAC. Then there is Doug Band bitching to Podesta about Chelsea paying for her multi million dollar wedding using Foundation money.
 
It really is frightening that the same people who thought Hillary was Satan because she handled sensitive information as carelessly as the last five SoS's are willing to actually laugh off the possibility that our "greatest geopolitical foe"* sought and/or succeeded in influencing our national election. Worse, that they're doing it for base and tribalist political purposes.

*In quotes, because the same people who said Russia was our greatest geopolitical foe after Romney said so - people who blamed Crimea on Obama - are now acting like we should ignore Russian aggression against us.
