Stunning! Dow Hits New High of 19,000 as Trump Rally Continues

Wait a minute aren't you the poster who was crying about how you lose money after ever republican is elected president. Kind of pathetic for you to try and now claim that thr stock market says nothing meaningful about the president. But then again as you are a political hack it's not really surprising.

What? Lol!! No, i don't think so.

I stand to make money off of their tax cuts. Lots of money.

Too bad your post has no point that isn't completely mistaken.

My apologies I got you and moot mixed up. I 100% percent retract what I said. Perfect example of why drinking and posting are a bad idea. Sorry. My bad.

Any thing else that isn't the topic of the thread you'd like to mention?

I would think the fact that you admittedly call out Trump supporters when the give credit to Trump for an uptick in the markets but yet are completely silent when so many on the left were hounding Trump for the markets downward trend after he was elected. In fact I think that is pretty close to the definition of a hypocrite.
No, that's really stupid. As I said, I'm responsible for what I say, not what I don't say. The idea I didn't jump into the one or two threads and post something doesn't mean I cannot post anything related to markets ever again. That's one of the most stupid and nakedly partisan positions I've ever read.

Furthermore, your post COMPLETELY misses my point. I wasn't calling out Trump supporters for giving Trump credit, I was calling out Republicans for their blatant hypocrisy. So not only is your theory stupid, it's also just downright wrong. Congrats, a double-header.

OK. I will leave you in that infantile playground where "yuh-HUUHHHHHH!" has currency.

I was merely replying to your "nuh-uh" response. I'm not sure why that upset you so much. I didn't mean to hurt your feelings.

No. You're spinning both what you and I said.

Why are you lying?
wah wah wah,

Harshaw, you started this discussion with the dishonest “misparaphrasing” of my post. You continued with more dishonest “misparaphrasing” and inability to grasp simple facts. I respond to what you actually posted and now you whine I’m spinning and lying. I don’t have to “misparaphrase” what you post to respond.

As already stated, you’re comparing Bush and Reagan’s spending and tax cuts with the trillion dollar Bush Deficits President Obama inherited. You seem to understand that FY 2009 belongs to Bush. So if you acknowledge Bush’s last budget deficit was over a trillion, why do you not grasp the concept of that President Obama inherited the trillion dollar Bush Deficits?

Weird; this doesn't speak to anything I said. And it's below the 40-year average only in terms of % of GDP, not in terms of actual amounts or % of outlays.
Why are you lying?
I didn’t have time to properly mock you yesterday but when you compare deficits from different years, you use “% of GDP” not nominal amounts and not the hilarious “% of outlays” you just invented. But rather than admit you didn’t know that President Obama had reduced the trillion dollar Bush Deficits to normal, you pretend not to understand “% of GDP”. See how once again when it comes time for conservatives (or conservative like posters) to choose integrity or narrative, you choose narrative.

Now harshaw, don’t whine at me or about me. Help me understand what you think you proved when you posted this chart.

Wow.

I sincerely apologize myself for accurately repeating what you said, as even you confirm here.

And now you're actually compounding it by implying that Obama's deficits have been "reduced" to "normal," while he's run up more than twice the aggregate deficit of Bush before him, and you blame the 2009 FY deficit entirely on Bush, while almost a quarter-trillion of THAT deficit includes more spending tacked on after Obama took office.

This is the truth behind the line you're trying to peddle:

Someone who's right doesn't have to lie so brazenly.

There are two reasons to use nominal dollars:

1. The analysis is wholly contained within a fixed point in time.

2. The intent is to deliberately mislead.

And #1 doesn't apply.

Obama is just begging trump not to deport him back to Kenya

... You only would have made this more obvious if you had spelt it KKKenya.

Really.

er uh Harshaw I don't mean to be a bother but I asked you a question about what you think your graph proved? Hows that coming?

Nationalist compAnies will now rise fast all the while liberal and globalist companies falling This will end liberalism

The fundamentals of the U.S. economy still generally suck.

This boom is temporary and is based almost entirely on Trump's promise to a) lower taxes/red tape/regulations; and b) ramp up spending.

The two combined means inflation as the federal deficit could skyrocket...and looking at the bond market, it has already started.

And the latter is purely temporary and has been shown time and again, it does little but inevitably stagnate the economy.

Anyone who thinks this market boom is permanent does not understand what is going on, imo.

Trump's reforming other areas like education, infrastructure, etc - so this will lead to follow-on effects which will improve the US economy further.

No...Trump has said he will reform....

Every POTUS candidate in the last 40+ years has claimed that. None have succeeded yet.

Your blind faith in Trump before he is even in office is naive in the extremis, imo.

Jeez man...do you even test drive a car before the salesperson talks you into buying it? My guess is no...not if the salesperson is convincing enough.

Trump will make many dominoes to fall to bring progress again. And this wil prove how corrupt the liberals Are. And this progress will then have the worst of the liberal brainwAshers to prison. Big change in the media and education
