Trump Settles Trump University Suits for $25M: Official

Instead of an argument, you post a race card. :lamo

you only read the last sentence didn't you? The argument was everything that preceded the last statement. The last sentence was a commentary on our current justice system that does overwhelmingly favor minority drug offenders over anything else. While letting corporate fraud skate along paying fines. Again, why does this need explaining to you? Go look for an education elsewhere, otherwise I'll start charging you for my services.

It was a B.S. lawsuit ~ Trump didn't meet those guidelines.

Why is the bold lost on you? Any person or organisation setting out practice where there are guidelines and then fails to meet those guidelines is open to charges of malpractice.

Not necessarily. Depending on the educational institution, the course can be created and then a private contractor and be hired to implement the curriculum.[

This is the same kind of total BS that the 'Trump university' got put out of business for.

I for one would like to see where he pays the 25 million from. Chances are, it wont be from his own bank account.

Why would it be?

Trump University was a business outfit under his company......

That is like saying the CEO of Bank of America should pay out lawsuits against the bank from his own account.

Thats ignorant.

Elitests getting away with crimes? Say it aint sooo... thought that was why Trump was elected?

You apparently don't understand the difference between a criminal and a civil case in U.S. Courts.

Maybe you should focus on **** goin' on in Denmark and leave the U.S. to us.

He had to pay 1m to the State of NY for violating state laws...

There are THOUSANDS of laws that are not criminal in nature. A BUSINESS doesn't get arrested...... it pays penalties.

You need to understand how business law works.

It is how he has traditionally dealt with lawsuits against him, problem is he has to be sued so often which brings up an issue with how he deals with others, is it in good faith or what is good for him.

You folks keep ignoring the fact that he has a company. Just because the company has his name on it, an he makes chief decisions, that does not make him an individual.

Companies get sued all the ****ing time.

Huge settlement.

But Trump will be grifting $25 MM per week from self dealing while President, so it's no big deal.

Got any evidence to suggest that or are you just trolling?

Corporate fraud doesn't come with criminal charges, it's all fines meant to penalize companies into being honest. asking if its misdemeanor charges or felonies to prove some point of innocence is pretty ridiculous. Do you go to jail for not paying your credit card debt? Or how about your hospital bills? Nope, unless your found to owe it by a court and then fail to pay it, then its contempt. So he won't see a jail by design unless he fails to pay. Why do I find myself constantly explaining simple concepts to you? He was guilty of fraud, he's got to pay out the ass, some of it to the state for violating laws. There was never any threat of criminal charges, unless he fails to pay. Doesn't mean he's innocent. Only minority drug offenders ever really go to jail.

Oh god... here we go with that "only the poor widdle minorities" bull****.

I got a guy convicted of Felony DWI, sentenced to 18 months in prison. White guy.
I got a guy convicted on Felony Possession With Intent to Sell/Deliver Cocaine (16 grams), Sentenced to probation. Black guy.

Give me a ****ing break with the "poor widdle minorities" bull****.

A crime is something you can go to jail or prison for.A misdemeanor is criminal act that you can go to jail for a year or less a felony is something you can go to prison for a year or more. PeteEU stated Elitist getting away with crimes. This is a civil case, not a criminal case. Plus the standards of proof in a civil case are much lower than the standards in a criminal case. I am sure Adpst asked PeteEU to see if he was aware that this was not a criminal case. So PeteEU was incorrect to say this was just another case of elites getting away with crimes.

Doesn't reaching a settlement mean that guilt or innocent was not determined? That basically the accused decided to pay something in order to lessen any potential future additional financial burden that fighting the case for years may cause? Which is something companies sometimes do regardless of guilt or innocent in order to lessen the financial burden that fighting the lawsuit may cause.

When was President Trump convicted? Remember, if there's no conviction, it didn't happen.

Excellent. So, since Hillary wasn't convicted of anything regarding those emails, for consistency's sake and because you are not a hypocrite, that problem didn't happen, either, right?

I appears to me that it is you that play "the race card" and try to stop an argument into a direction I presume you dislike.

Since you're the self proclaimed master of simple concepts, how is it you fail to understand that a settlement is not a court finding and the awarding of a fine? As a result, he was not "guilty of fraud" - only a court can find guilt - and both he and the plaintiffs agreed that going the court route was not in either's best interest.

It's not unheard of for rich people to pay off a plaintiff when the legal costs and aggravation may be greater than the agreed upon settlement. Rich people are targets every day of the week. Likewise, it's not unheard of for an innocent person to accept a plea bargain when the cost of defending oneself in a trial is onerous and unacceptable. But then, as the master of simple concepts, I'm sure you already knew that.

Yes. Most states allow it. The lawsuit was never about quality of education. The lawsuit was about the use of the word "university". The liberal histrionics about the quality of the schools only shows their ignorance.

Got any evidence to suggest that or are you just trolling?

Evidence?

Past behavior.

He's already shown he's happy to screw people over to make money- Trump U, for example.

The kind of grifting I'm talking about isn't necessarily illegal- no President in the US has ever been in a situation with assets and presumably massive debt in foreign nations with no transparency whatsoever.

And he has clearly stated he will not be transparent- no tax returns, no disclosures of who he is in debt to.

He, and no doubt, his staff, has a free hand to loot as much as possible, with virtually no oversight since it's a private, international business.

Aaaaand he's guilty of fraud. Obviously. I wonder what the original lawsuit amount was for.

How do you figure he is guilty of anything?

Plain and simple he's a thief that got caught. What a disgrace to our country! One and done. Set back for the next 4 years and enjoy the show. He WILL go down as the Worst president of all time. All time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Since when is one and done the motto for the left?

The case against him was airtight.

It sure was. He had no choice and then he had the balls to say he'd won if it went to court. He's a joke. An embarrassment to all. One and done!!!!!!!!!!!

I appears to me that it is you that play "the race card" and try to stop an argument into a direction I presume you dislike.

When did I do that?
