Trump just took credit for stopping Ford moving a plant to mexico (when it wasn't)

Re: Trump just took credit for stopping Ford moving a plant to mexico (when it wasn't

Lol, can't wait to see what earth shattering thing you're going to do after 3 months.

Two years, elections again, that simple, even for you to comprehend.

Two years is not 3 months. I make no assumptions either way about your ability to comprehend that.

Re: Trump just took credit for stopping Ford moving a plant to mexico (when it wasn't

“Today, we confirmed with the President-elect that our small Lincoln utility vehicle made at the Louisville Assembly Plant will stay in Kentucky,” the company said in a statement. “We are encouraged that President-elect Trump and the new Congress will pursue policies that will improve U.S. competitiveness and make it possible to keep production of this vehicle here in the United States.”

In a follow-up email exchange, a Ford spokeswoman confirmed that the MKC production had been slated to move to Mexico.

I never liked the man when he hosted that crap reality show, a bufoon in an expensive suit, and bad hair, 2018 cant come soon enough. If he over reaches like the Dems did in 2010 pay back is a bitch

Re: Trump just took credit for stopping Ford moving a plant to mexico (when it wasn't

Obama and Hillary would have never bothered to make the call.

Re: Trump just took credit for stopping Ford moving a plant to mexico (when it wasn't

President Trump is already having a positive effect.

He had no effect on Ford.

Re: Trump just took credit for stopping Ford moving a plant to mexico (when it wasn't

Heck, I'm not sure Trump's even lying. He probably does think he's just that good, that one conversation was enough to alter any plans Ford had. I think it's rather similar to Obama believing he could simply talk radical Islamic terrorists out of being radical Islamic terrorists.

Good point. He may not be lying, just a moron

Re: Trump just took credit for stopping Ford moving a plant to mexico (when it wasn't

According to the Ford exec they HAVE cancelled plans to relocate their production plant to Mexico and it WAS due to Trumps election. With the direct evidence in your face you still lie about it. YOU calling HIM a liar and/or a moron. That's pretty ironic, isn't it?

Re: Trump just took credit for stopping Ford moving a plant to mexico (when it wasn't

Your own reference says, "After the Tweets, a spokesman for Ford confirmed that the company had reversed its plans to stop making the Lincoln MKC at a plant in Louisville, but the company had never said the plant would close." Trump never said the plant was to move or close. You really didn't think they were going to physically "move" the plant to Mexico? President-elect Trump obviously had some influence on their decision making. Even the Huffington Post confirms this in spite of the dramatic headlines in their article and the others. So once again, the press has made a mountain out of a mole hill in order to discredit Trump...and you fell for it. But if that's all you've got...

I bet you thought that Trump also called all Mexicans rapists and murderers?

Not so fast:

How do you know that? Even Ford's spokesperson doesn't know that:

Hey guys.

After the tweets, a spokesman for Ford confirmed the company had reversed its plan to stop making the Lincoln MKC at a plant in Louisville, but the company had never said the plant would close.

The company last year indicated it would be moving MKC production out of Louisville, though it did not announce where it was going. At the time, union leaders said the shift would not cost any jobs in Kentucky, because Escape production would replace lost MKC production.

Ford actually showed off its revamped Louisville plant in September after Trump bashed the company at a presidential debate.

So Ford were going to move Lincoln MKC production away, but that was going to be replaced with more production of the Ford Escape (the plant produces 260k Escapes compared to 20k MKC's). The plant was not to be closed, was not going to cost jobs.

So rewind a little bit and answer me, how has Trump, in any way (and I quote here) "worked hard with Bill Ford to keep the Lincoln plant in Kentucky"

It's like if Walmart stopped selling Twix but instead sell more Mars Bars, then Trump took credit for the Walmart staying open.

And now, they arent going to shut that production plant, either.

Its funny that you RE-POSTED THE EXACT WORDS of the Ford exec, only to ASK FOR the exact words of the Ford exec that says Trump "in any way" worked to keep the production plant in Ky.

I mean...seriously...all you had to do is actually READ your own story that you cited and not block out the parts that didnt feed your Trump hatred.

For those of you who are stating Trump is telling half truths and lying to the public. The same crowd has asked from Trump to be more "Presidential." You got your wish.:lamo

As far as Trump's influence on Ford. Time will tell. imo, some news outlets are looking for anyway to jab at Trump.

When it comes to Politicians and what they say. Check and Verify. Same applies on what is reported by news media.

They never were going to shut either plant. They were going to move production of one line. I stated this pretty damn clearly in the first quote of the OP.

Ford said MKC production had been slated to move to Mexico from the Louisville plant, which wouldn't have affected the plant, and wouldn't have cost any jobs in the US. The Lincoln plant (i.e. the plant that produces only Lincolns - also known as the Kentucky Truck Plant) had no plans to move.

Ford has never announced plans to move to Mexico either its Kentucky Truck Plant in Louisville, which produces the Lincoln Navigator, or the Louisville Assembly Plant, which produces the Lincoln MKC and the Ford Escape.

MKC makes up <10% of the Louisville plants production and that production was planned to be replaced with production of the Ford Escape. As I quoted, they had even revamped the Louisville plant. There were no plans to close it. No jobs were going to be lost.

However, tens of thousands of people now believe, thanks to Trumps tweets and fake news, that Trump saved thousands of jobs. He categorically hasn't.

Ford tells Trump no Lincoln SUV production going to Mexico | Reuters

So Trump has saved jack **** here, really.

Something really really crazy appeared to have just happened and I hope people understand why it matters amidst all the other chaos. Our president-elect tweeted something that clearly implies his election prevented a plant from moving south. He's simply made up that he saved a plant and American jobs. But he knows what he's doing -- there are now fake stories all over the place confirming that yes, the election of Trump saved a bunch of jobs. Kept American jobs American. Multiple fake conservative sites have already picked up on this, as did Reuters, for God knows what reason. To a bunch of people (inc the tens of thousands who retweeted his tweet) the election of Trump immediately saved jobs. There is no evidence this is the case. So it is becoming increasingly unclear that what Trump does or doesn't do is, thanks to fake news, completely untethered from the real world.

No matter what you think of Trump, you have a duty as part of the electorate to stay reliably informed. And it's increasingly clear that Trump himself is not a reliable source of information.

So, he acted pro actively....Wow! what a refreshing change....;)

Re: Trump just took credit for stopping Ford moving a plant to mexico (when it wasn't

I trust Trump more than I trust Ford.

Because Ford Intentionally misled the American people that led to hundreds of deaths.

Trump is responsible for 0 American fatalities. Which btw, is not something Hillary or Obama can claim. Trump has saved hundreds of jobs just by getting electing and he'll save thousands more in the future!

Meanwhile Obama was out there demanding that the jobs be sent to Mexico in order to punish the people of Kentucky for voting against him. Hillary promised to make as many people in the Appalachians as poor as possible.

Really? Obama was doing that to punish Kentucky? Hillary promised to make people in Appalachia as poor as possible. Do you credible sources for those two statements or is this you talking out you ass?

Lol you're posting the same thing without reading my response to it.

The SUV is staying at the plant, fine. But the plant was never going to close in the first place.

Trump has done exactly nothing here to pay back the people of Kentucky, or to keep any plants open.

If taking credit for things he's not doing is acting pro-actively.... sure.

Re: Trump just took credit for stopping Ford moving a plant to mexico (when it wasn't

if ford moved to mexico and then came back to the US, would trump deport them

Re: Trump just took credit for stopping Ford moving a plant to mexico (when it wasn't

So Ford went to the trouble of telling President Elect Trump that production of the MKC would remain in the US instead of shifting to Mexico, and the wildly discredited WaPo and HuffPo claim it's not true?

You'd think after getting the deceitful asses handed to them they'd try telling the truth on occasion, but I guess their trying to hang on to their dwindling readership.

Ford told Trump many times he was full of crap and his claims BS. The plant in KY was never going to close or lose a single employee. In Nov 2015, the company announced MKC production would move to CHICAGO, not to Mexico and the same article pointed out Ford's plan to invest more than a $billion in KY plants, which hardly indicates plans to move production to Mexico.

Trump lied, Ford pointed out he lied, and he kept doing it. You can care or not, but that's what happened.

Here's a timeline

They're still moving production to Mexico and never did plan to close any U.S. plants. If you want to cite something to the contrary, have at it.

Did he or did he not influence Ford Motor Company's decision to keep the SUV production plant in Kentucky? Did the Ford exec cite the president elect and expected favorable business conditions as their reason for staying or not?

Seriously...you are massively embarrassing yourself. Dont worry...there will be PLENTY of things to be upset with Trump over. This kind of ****...doood....you just make yourself look stoopid.
