Voice of The People Getting Weaker by the Day

Is what it is. Why is that every new voting generation has to have it explained that we live in a Republic. Do not like it, then change it. Donald will be sworn in if all goes smoothly and we will get what we deserve, good or bad.

No need to explain. We know what is.

No need to explain. We know what is.

Every bad system has its snapping point. This abomination may survive a 2 million majority being shown a finger or some ancient book of wisdom.

Will it survive 10 or 20 million? Baltimore replay, except 10 times worse?

Because no one tells them so? or perhaps because they're indoctrinated into believing democracy is a divine regime and that the U.S is its foremost paragon.

We all cringe when a criminal gets off on a technicality.

That EC vote, overriding the popular vote which went the other way, is a technicality.

My advice to the Republicans: enjoy it while you still can.

It is a common ignorance among many voters, I would say the majority believe the myth. Ask em, they believe they elect the President the same way we elect a Senator or Congressman then do not grasp why their candidate lost but yet got the most votes.

Interesting point.

I think the man in the video below best summarizes the results, and responds to those people who are connecting to the popular vote issue.

That guy just made my day. :peace

Better yet, just move like they promised us.

The same video I saw was entitled something about an apology to the defeated Ds.. lolz

A lot of conservatives seemed to be fond of it when it came to denying equal rights to gays and lesbians.
And yet...when the Supreme Court decides based on the rule of law that regardless of 'majority rule' Gay Marriage must be allowed (even when marriage is nowhere found in the Constitution) do you see protests, riots, etc? No.

And I'm glad you draw the connection. So obviously you agree the continued bleating and whining about the 'popular vote' is nothing more than a bunch of children throwing a tantrum because they didnt get what they want. Right?

The Clinton vote margin is almost two million and growing. Appears likely it will reach several million.

Hillary Clinton's Popular Vote Victory Keeps Growing | The Huffington Post

The article is from 11/09/16. It is not "current." The votes are counted and the margin is about 500,000. The end.

2016 Presidential General Election Results

Therefore, Clinton did not get a "majority of the popular vote;" she got a plurality of the votes which were cast.

No matter how you look at it, she did not win a majority of the popular vote, just a plurality of the votes cast.

You're reading the date on the photo caption. The story is current as of this morning.

Sorry, no. We don't enact law by popular vote. This is a difference you might consider thinking about.

To repeat: A lot of conservatives seemed to be fond of it when it came to denying equal rights to gays and lesbians. There were scrams and howls of "let the people decide" - so obviously they were strongly in favor of majority rules when it came to making laws about removing equal protection under the law.

You haven't seen me not accept the EC vote. I do. I think the mass protests are counterproductive.

She will likely win by more than 2 million votes. Not that it matters, as EC rules, except to repudiate the idea he has a strong mandate from the people.

& If roles were reversed you know sure as **** we'd see Trump hip deep in lawsuits, on a mad non-stop twitter rampage -- and his supporters would be angrily freaking the hell out.
