Chris Christie dropped as head of Trump's white House Transition team

So long as he retains our faith, mostly.

We elected him with the understanding that he was not going to be tied to any promises.

I will hold him to try to accomplish his promises. No politician can deliver on every promise but I don't like to have smoke blown up my skirt either.

:snicker:

I knew you wore skirts. And don't go and try changing it to "kilt". It's a skirt.

It's interesting, but he's being rewarded for his unwavering support after trump whipped his ass in the primaries. He's one of the few that got behind him in any strong form.

CC has some baggage that he didn't disclose. So sad for CC. The actual reason CC was demoted is because he tried to pad jobs with people loyal to him, not to the future administration. He got caught.

It's Friday. I always wear skirts on Friday. I will wear it for you when you come up for steak. :2wave:

Did you see where David Brooks says that Trump will be gone in a year in large part because of breaking promises?

Do you have an opinion on that?

Nope. I don't even know who David Brooks is. He sounds like an idiot if he says stuff like that.

Provided you get off working that corner long enough to get a steak... yer on!

Just seems bizzare to me. It's a very sensitive time in American politics and having your kids oversee it seems very risky.

Do you think the transition is going to take years?

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2016/nov/11/chris-christie-dropped-trump-transition-team

Donald Trump has dropped Chris Christie, the governor of New Jersey, as the head of his White House transition team, replacing him with vice-president Mike Pence.
The president-elect also took the unprecedented step of naming three of his own children and his son-in-law to the executive committee overseeing the transition.

The bridge gate scandal apparently is the cause of this-or at least the public explanation given. I personally suspect CC was not someone most of the GOP right was happy with in the first place

It is important to Trump's administration that he surround himself with the right people, especially for a President with no government experience. Christie is an impulsive loud mouth who doesn't appear to have much self control. What can he add to Trump's administration?

Trump has to give Christie something. I don't believe Trump will give Christie any job where Christie might cause problems. I have no idea where Christie might land but I'll bet big bucks he ain't getting the Secretary of Transportation gig.

I do. However bad Trump may be Pence would be double worse.

Wonder if he might land a job that would give him some leverage to stop the investigation on himself?

Brooks I dont know about.....many years ago I used to listen to him on Newshour with Shields and I thought that they both made a lot of sense a lot of the time, but his rabid hostility to Trump has me questioning his judgement.

Pence is proven horrific. Trump is extremely unpredictable.

True. I predicted he would have a major _uck up within the first 8 months. Proved me wrong. Gonna be a lot sooner now. Can the repubs handle it if he's impeached?

"horrific" LOL-what's the worst he can do-suggest justices who are going to ignore 44 years of precedent and overturn Roe v Wade? Do you know what such an extremely improbable ruling would do?

I don't blame him. Bad baggage. I wish that he would reach out to either John Kasich or Jeb Bush. I like Kasich. I watched him in the debates and he seems like a good man with fine common sense.

I actually voted for Kasich in the NC Republican Primary. I admit I did it based upon not only him at the debates seeming more reasonable but also a couple of different videos of him being supportive of gay rights while at the same time saying he personally disagrees with Gay Marriage due to his religious principles.

I don't care if you have a personal religious principle about a certain social issue as long as you recognize that others have the right to it and government has no business legislating based upon your personal religious beliefs.

Of course, Trump also doesn't seem to give a crap about gay marriage either way himself, so that is a plus.

Despite leaning more conservative on a great deal of issues, I tend to be liberal when it comes to social stuff like that.

I think foreign policy is going to be his main responsibility.

Pence is going to be the working with the DC ELITE to make law guy, the foreign policy shop will be some other guys, and they likely will be guys, as the women have from what I have seen been a disaster.

Bet Chris cried for just a little while then went to the nearest Dunk'in Doughnuts and everything became fine.

I said the act is, not that America would become.

Reading is fundamental j-mac.

Are you one of those people who think that ANY behavior by a 3rd world anything is AUTOMATICALLY a bad thing?

Personally, Im going to reserve judgement on this right now. Now if he packs his administration with all his children then I'll have to be more cautious of his intent. This is just a transition team.

I'd prefer Christie to Pence by a country mile. Mike Pence is a ****ing sociopath.

I went to see his speech while he was campaigning here in my hometown. He didn't seem like a sociopath to me.....

True, but trump is not a better something else, oh he will be something else just not better, he could be far worse. We shall see, everyone will be watching.

And you are saying this based upon........ what vast font of information????

Tell me first what you base your faith him on? Just so ya know, his words are worthless, so what is his track record that you base this hope upon?
