Elizabeth Warren is positioning herself as Hillary Clinton's successor - her shriller, angrier sister - in taking on Donald Trump:

U.S. Democrats' liberal firebrand, Senator Elizabeth Warren, threw down the gauntlet to President-elect Donald Trump on Thursday, telling labor union members there are financial and social issues where her party will fight him and continuing to blast the Republican.

Battling bigotry is the first job for Democrats after the election, said Warren, of Massachusetts, giving a sense of how her party will operate now that it no longer controls the White House and remains the minority in both chambers of Congress.

"We will fight back against attacks on Latinos, African Americans, women, Muslims, immigrants, disabled Americans — on anyone," said Warren, who sparred frequently over Twitter with Trump and criticized him on the campaign trail in the weeks leading up to Tuesday's election. "Whether Donald Trump sits in a glass tower or sits in the White House, we will not give an inch on this, not now, not ever."

Hopefully she has no plans to create a Warren Foundation - so far, anyway.

Clinton would have done better with her on the ticket. She actually probably could have taken the nomination from Hillary but elected not to for whatever rea$on.

Warren is a much bigger threat to Trump than Hillary was. She's got some of Bernie's populist fire without all the baggage Hillary had.

Probably her affirmative action lies would catch up to her.

That stuff would wash out so fast compared to all of Clinton's drama.

Oh they are out there anyway. It isn't like most family's don't have a lie in their lore anyway.

Warren would have been exposed for all her BS. Kaine is fairly clean.

She defended many of the Corporations that she swore she would go after during her pandering for election.

Then there was this indian thing........dunno if she was looking for her share of the casino revenue, or using it for other false acclaim. ;)

But Bernie was likeable. Warren is just bitter and mean; nasty, if you will. She has the votes of the fringe left but would not wear well with mainstream America. Forget her politics, there is nothing likeable about her at all.

I'll admit, something about Warren just puts me off. I can't quite pin it down. Just something about her that makes the hairs on the back of my neck rise up whenever I even just hear her name.

Oh please. People were pleading and begging for Elizabeth Warren to run but she lacked the courage to do so and now she wants to act like she's this independent and courageous politician. Democrats showed the character this election. Furthermore Warren would do well to wait until she actually sees how Trump runs his presidency. I found the Republican tactic of stonewalling Obama before he even was sworn in to be despicable. The Dems are already planning to do so and I find it equally despicable. Trump's agenda has a lot of points that the DEMS should be happy with. UNION VOTERS HATE FREE TRADE DEALS and the DEMS should enthusiastically be joining Trump in making sure they get renegotiated.

And her pre-emptive opposition against Trump against minorities is ridiculous.

--Trump wants to prevent illegal immigrants from entering this country. Why are Dems opposed to this?
--Trump wants to prevent immigrants from the middle east from entering this country until we can confirm their background checks. Why are Dems opposed to this?

Warren is just saber-rattling the same way the Reps saber rattled towards Obama and I disliked them for it.

I don't know. Bitter, mean, and nasty don't seem to describe her all that well. She is definitely angry, but she doesn't hurl disgusting insults all over the place. She has some really awesome takedowns of banking CEOs at various senate hearings that could rally a lot of people around her. In any case, she is ten times more likeable than Hillary.

Thank goodness The Donald didn't have any baggage.

Is it the fact she made her name railing against the evils of Wall Street and then enthusiastically endorsed Hillary Clinton? Because I could not have rolled my eyes hard enough when that happened.

Because all she does is spread hate for certain people. That's it. She does literally nothing else. The problem with your entire ideologies approach to discussion is that it comes off as bitter, demanding, and whiny.

In our culture any woman that speaks out or has any prominence -- even bosses -- are automatically considered bitches. A man can do the same and it doesn't even raise an eyebrow. Take Trump for instance.

Construction unions in the Chicago area voted Trump. They kinda' like his infrastructure plans. As do the heavy equipment corps in the stock market. As do investors in same.

Think she may be out of touch?

No, Warren is just unpleasant. Take your conspiracies of sexism elsewhere.

Trump already has his orange war paint on. Bring it on Running Mouth.

Why is it that the left goes with the most hated woman that they can find? Hillary is finally done with, and they want this "You didn't build that" moron in her place? Can't they take a hint? Bill and Obama where likable people. This one, not so much.

It has nothing to do with our culture. Warren comes across as angry and mean. Trump often came across that way as well and was called out on it regularly.

meh, that doesn't bother me in the slightest. I've had women bosses that were complete bitches on the job but sweeter than strawberry pie when off the job. Such attitude just came with the job so I never let it get to me. I realize that how someone acts on the job is never an indication of how they are privately so never hold such against them.

You're not supposed to notice when men are called out on for being mean. ;)
