Sen. Elizabeth Warren throws down gauntlet to President-elect Trump

With very little power over the next two years at least....

Her bosses decided that.

I don't know. Bitter, mean, and nasty don't seem to describe her all that well. She is definitely angry, but she doesn't hurl disgusting insults all over the place. She has some really awesome takedowns of banking CEOs at various senate hearings that could rally a lot of people around her. In any case, she is ten times more likeable than Hillary.

I don't know. I thought Hillary was more likeable than Warren. People who know and work with Hillary actually like and respect her. I haven't heard the same from people who know and work with Warren. But, yeah you don't want her on your bad side that's for sure.

Is it the fact she made her name railing against the evils of Wall Street and then enthusiastically endorsed Hillary Clinton? Because I could not have rolled my eyes hard enough when that happened.

I honestly don't know. Just something about her.

I'll admit, something about Warren just puts me off. I can't quite pin it down. Just something about her that makes the hairs on the back of my neck rise up whenever I even just hear her name.

Its because she is an enemy of capitalism. A socialist- if not a communist.

meh, that doesn't bother me in the slightest. I've had women bosses that were complete bitches on the job but sweeter than strawberry pie when off the job. Such attitude just came with the job so I never let it get to me. I realize that how someone acts on the job is never an indication of how they are privately so never hold such against them.

I wish more people could manage that....

Tolerance in this country is lower than it has been in at least 100 years.

So.... The Democrats' plan is to keep telling white union members that they look down on them?

Good luck with that.

How is she looking down on unions?

When you say "tolerance is lower"...to what tolerance do you refer?

I consider the politics of people like Bernie and Warren nothing but jackassery, but with Warren it's not just her political views that are the problem, but the way she presents herself and addresses people.

Our willingness to live in peace with people who are different than us, which most importantly has to do with existing with people who have different ideas than us.

We used to be much better at this.

White union members broke in key areas to vote for Trump. Her response is that's it's about racism, sexism, etc.

Doubling down on part of what put Democrats here isn't going to help.

No, that's not it. I see the problems with capitalism myself so have no problem with people who's views are based on those problems.

Note: While I see the problems with capitalism I'm not against it either. Almost everything has negatives to it as well as positives. That's the nature of life.

Probably her affirmative action lies would catch up to her.

Compared to the fact that Trump the Moron used to be a Democrat?

Makes no difference.

Trump changed...Warren still says she's an Indian.

Aren't you missing your Moveon.org march time?

The Left has long tended to believe what they want to believe over reality, this is one of the big reasons why The whole Democratic Party is now a smoking pile of rubble. (term lifted from Matthew Yglesias)

Yes, she would be a perfect Leftist candidate.

Elect Fauxcahontas Warren 2020!

Is that like a fauxservative? LOL! Goldman was up like 12% today. My retirement and investment accounts are doing quite well the last few days. Thanks Donny. Time to take some off the table before reality sets in.

Warren is awesome. I hope she runs next time.

Wouldn't it be smarter to wait until 2024? Then again, it probably doesn't make much difference.

Do you really think Warren would be appealing outside of the far left? I somehow doubt it myself.

We are going to have another Bush financial disaster if someone doesn't take on the big financial institutions. I think she might do something in that area. I worked for one of them for almost 18 years. Its all about current profits and stock price (bonus and raise dollars) They all have derivative balances of 5 to 10 times their balance sheets. Its a disgrace. They also have off balance sheet transactions which are really theirs but for some filing BS. I am very familiar with the Securitization ones. Up to $50 billion on the ones I was involved with Capitalized by less than $10 million. They need to be broken up or properly capitalized. I would love to let them fail but they would take everyone with them, the system would collapse.

I enjoyed this article, but I think he overstated the case. Trump isn't interested in overturning much of Obama's legacy, especially on social issues, and he's hardly interested at all in replacing them with conservative ones.

The R's in Congress are, and for Trump to get what he wants they need to get some of what they want. I know it has been a good while since Washington worked, but this is how it works.

I still don't see his it's talking down to white people. Not all white are sexist, racist, etc. Many white people are opposed to such things. Its fair to say she ignoring their concerns, but I don't understand why a white person should feel belittled by condemning racism, etc. I really don't understand, but I am willing to try seeing you pov.

I have audited some of the big banks and I agree. They are also badly managed from the top down. Nobody takes responsibility for anything, and nobody knows anything.
