For the second time in less than a month Politico chief political correspondent Glenn Thrush has been caught sending stories to Hillary Clinton staffers for approval.Thrush sent an email to Clinton communications director Jennifer Palmieri on April 17, 2015 with the subject line: “pls read asap — the [Jennifer Palmieri] bits — don’t share.” This was revealed in Thursday’s WikiLeaks release of Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta’s emails. It is included in Podesta’s emails as Palmieri shared the email with several other Clinton staffers, including campaign manager Robby Mook and Podesta.

Why do we believe anything the press has to say anymore?

Why do we believe anything the press has to say anymore?

After all the leaks that have come out proving that most of the media is in the bag for the Democrats, it's fascinating to see who still believes the only biased network is Fox News.

Tell it, brother!

I don't trust any television "news" ever. I don't watch television news. It continues to amazes me that people on DP whine and cry because something they saw on a television news program was biased. :2rofll: Where is it written that television news is supposed to be unbiased? Entertainment is not unbiased. Television news is entertainment disguised as hard news. Suckers eat that **** up.

As for print media and news from the web, I don't trust any single source and some sources I never trust such as World News Daily. If I see something quoted from WND I immediately discount whatever is said. On occasion I might check several other sources to validate WND. In every case WND is either flat out wrong or the omit key information so that they can slant the article.

Real news is hard to find. It's not perfect but I start every morning by reading the US edition of the Guardian.

Re: Politico Reporter Gets Caught AGAIN Sending A Story To A Clinton Staffer For Appr

Can they please go back to doing the news straight, dry and boring like the CNN of my childhood? If the news is telling you how to feel then its not news.

A lot of this is the fault of Fox News, their newstainment approach was so successful everyone else had to copy them at the expense of journalism and objectivity.

Good, keep twisting that dagger into whats left of the Democratic party brand.

Keep it up until the brand is absolutely synonymous with unprecedented corruption, and then top it off with the swearing in of a candidate who's under a active FBI investigation

It's clear that the news media is little more than the propaganda arm for the Democratic party and the Hillary campaign.

Fox News appears to be the only independent news source anymore.

Indeed. That's exactly what the biased news sources are doing.

You can trust PBS. Even though Gwen Ifill is a hardcrore Obama supporter she doesn't report the news like a partisan hack. NPR a little less so trustworthy, but I'd listen to them before any other news on the radio. There are unbiased news sources out there, but they don't present their information in an exciting, entertaining way. Look at it this way: if it's presented in a dry factual manner without a hint of sensationalism, then it's probably fair.

I haven't, not any of them. We have News-Entertainment, not journalism.

I think that is what we all need to do from now on, is double check sources, news sites, whatever is said....No longer can we take anyone's word for anything.....This is a new frontier for many.

Oh, this has been going on far longer than FNC.....This crap started when J-Schools started enticing students with the promise of changing the world.

Depends on who you are watching on FNC.....Their opinion shows clearly are split....For example, O'Reiley, and Hannity are clearly in Trump's corner, M. Kelly hates Trump....etc.

That's not even a measure....The only way to know is to do the homework yourself....Like I said, brave new world.

True. But then there's the clear distinction between opinion and facts of the story.

Hannity is clearly in Trumps corner, and Kelly most certainly is not.

O'Reilly is fairly even handed from my observation, calls himself an independent, and doesn't discuss for whom he votes.

Hume is also very even handed, but then, his is a hard news, factual program.

The press hasn't been honest and believable in decades. It's disturbing.

Over the last n number of weeks, NPR has yet to even report on a single WikiLeaks release, so I'd include them in the left-wing propaganda machine. Only problem is that they are tax payer funded, and if they want to be all left wing, fine, but not with my money.

While I am skeptical of media, any honest appraisal of media practices should should be able to acknowledge that we are reverting to the founding era with our journalism preferences, which stressed outright propaganda more than any pretense for objectivity.

Indeed Tres. The press isn't fulfilling it's obligation as a free press when all they do is push their agenda. It's corrosive to the Republic, specifically for a well informed electorate to make informed voting choices.

Re: Politico Reporter Gets Caught AGAIN Sending A Story To A Clinton Staffer For Appr

Just so I understand; you want to savage "the media" because, according to the OP, someone at Politico sought to validate the accuracy of biographical information before it was printed? Shouldn't we be celebrating good journalism?

This. I'm trying to think back to any 'golden era' of journalism and I dont think you can find a time when journalism wasnt engaged in political bias. What it has become though transcends any pretense of journalistic integrity.

The truth is seldom found in the media's black or white. Read left, read right...and then allow for the 'truth' somewhere in the middle.

Seeing as how we already know the ties between Assange and the Russian government, and how we already know that the FBI's investigating a fraudulent letter apparently made to make the Clinton campaign look bad, and how we already know that 17 military and civilian intelligence agencies have said that Russia is trying to influence our election...

...AND seeing that there's no confirmation that the e-mail is genuine...don'tcha think that maybe, just maybe we should wait for confirmation of the veracity that e-mail before we go assuming that it must be real?

The 20th century was unique in that it attempted to be "objective." However, what sold for objective in whatever region or era was inherently dependent upon their social politics. That being said, the effort was often made to at least give consideration to multiple perspectives.

Can you identify this mythical beastie?
