In phone calls, meetings and cables, America’s European allies have expressed alarm to one another about Donald Trump’s public statements denying Moscow’s role in cyberattacks designed to interfere with the U.S. election. They fear the Republican nominee for president has emboldened the Kremlin in its unprecedented cybercampaign to disrupt elections in multiple countries in hopes of weakening Western alliances, according to intelligence, law enforcement and other government officials in the United States and Europe

Yes, it is pretty much cut and dried that Moscow is attempting to influence the election but, as it turns out, it is not because they support Donald Trump, but because they have a vendetta against Hillary Clinton for interfering in what they regard as Russian matters while Secretary of State. At the same time, the intelligence shows that Trump is innocent of involvement, but the Russians wanted to give an appearance of it in order to weaken Trump, should he be elected.

This, my friends is an act of war, and it is my strong belief that, whoever is elected should bring back the Cold War.

Let me make something perfectly clear. I didn't vote for either of these 2 Bozos, but whichever of them wins the election, I will still voice my opposition to anything he or she does that runs counter to what I believe in, but I will stand solidly behind the president, be it Clinton or Trump, on any sanctions or other actions they take against Russia. After all, I am an American first, and I will be damned if I will accept ANY foreign nation meddling in our political process. Make no mistake. Russia is not our friend, and Russia needs to pay a steep price for it's interference in our sovereignty.

Why Vladimir Putin?s Russia Is Backing Donald Trump

For a geopolitical adversary, Trump is a dream come true, he's so easily goaded into making mistakes and anger, China and Russia will play him like a fiddle.

The USA has worked hard to re-initiate the Cold War. Missiles allegedely defending from non-existent Iranian missile attack that are truly aimed at Russia. USA meddling in Georgia and having their CIA stooge Saakashvili attack Ossetia and now Saakashvilis a wanted man in Georgia, but Ukraine made him leader of a province in Ukraine (CIA IOU). That is after Russia kicked him out of Ossetia and could have marched completely over Georgia, but did not. Poetic justice for Saakashvili. USA created a coup d'etat in Ukraine and Russia gave Crimeans a choice to accept the coup d'etat leadership or move under the Russian umbrella. They chose Russia. For all practical purposes, the coup d'etat in Ukraine has bankrupted that Nation and caused grief to the populace. The Cold War is a USA invention because we want Russia to behave as a vassal state and Putin and Russia say "Screw you." They expect to be treated as the strong, independent Nation that they are. Give Russia and Putin credit for having rebuilt from the 1989 debacle. The USA sanctions against Russia could be interpreted as an Act of War and we are fortunate that Putin is a pragmatic leader. Putin is helping Syrians and the USA wants to kill Syrians to get rid of Assad. Assad, another leader that doesn't want to be treated as a vassal state. Are we going to fix Syria like we fixed Libya and Iraq and Afghanistan? The USA mantra is "War is good business, and business is good."

If you want Cold War, Hillary's your man; if you want a puppet who will dance to the latest flatterer, vote Trump.

If you are sane, don't vote.

Not sure that either country gains in any way by a president who acts that way. It would be much more in the interests of hostile actors like China and Russia to have someone like Obama and Clinton who can be rolled at the negotiation table and are known quantities rather than a potentially volatile unknown.

Yes, it is pretty much cut and dried that Moscow is attempting to influence the election...

No, it is not....That is the liberal talking point for liberals to blame their absolute poor choices, and losses on....

This, my friends is an act of war...

Wow, talk about desperation....Hyperbole much?

I will stand solidly behind the president, be it Clinton or Trump...

I'll believe that when I see it....

Or they could pay Hillary like a whore.

Oh look a thread that about Russia doing something wron and here comes Dave in to try and defend Russia by deflecting with his CT nonsense again. You can almost set your watch to it.

The Soviet Union is dead and the Cold War ended a long time ago. The problem is that after it ended, Atlanticists hawks who'd been steadily infiltrating the US political system, particularly via one party's weakness of depending upon a Coalition of Special Interest groups, managed to hijack US foreign policy for their own narrow interests. This has steadily been turning America into a vassal state for foreign extraterritorialists who don't have the guts to fight their own ethnic feuds in other parts of the world - they need America to fight these wars for them, to the last American.

The new war isn't a reprise of the Cold War - it's a war between patriots who value their country and its national sovereignty first, versus extraterritorialists/trans-nationalists/globalists who need America to be subservient to their agenda.

It is good to hear a conservative say this. In my lifetime I have NEVER heard such a loud minority of Americans suggest that Russia's meddling in our democracy is a good thing.

It's like we've gone from one extreme of Joseph McCarthy and the Un-American Activities Committee (two separate but not unrelated things) to I <3 Putin.

Why would Putin really want Trump to win ?

The worlds economies cant absorb another 8 years of American economic stagnation.

Why would Putin want Hillary to win ? He and every other bad actor could hold her Emails over Hillary's head and be very influential in future American foreign policy decisions.

How did you happen to get your brain drained? Could be too much TV. No thinking necessary, eh? Be sure to set your watch back soon. You wouldn't want to miss the Mainstream Media twist on the World now, would you? If they twist news for an election, they can twist all the news. Does that trouble you? Probably depends on how much has been drained, or not?

No it was by reading silly nonsense posted by CTers such as yourself. Listening to you people ramble on will make anyone's brain hurt.

Do you ever get tired of posting such bs.

I knew this would be out today. I'm halfway through the article, and I encourage everyone, Trump supporter or Hillary supporter or Neither, to read the entire article.

No matter who wins the election, the American people must understand what Russia is doing to us and why it is doing it. Hint: The end game with Putin is Europe and a weakened NATO. Other than viewing America as a useful tool, he doesn't give a fat fly **** about our country or our people.

Yet.

Read the damned article! Read it! Read the evidence it reports. Read the meetings it documents. Read the damned thing! Every American who cares about this country, no matter your politics NEEDS TO READ THIS DAMNED ARTICLE, because no matter who wins the election, it is a game plan of exactly what Russia wants to do, and how it plans to get what it wants.

Don't waste your breath. LOL.

Don't waste your breath. LOL.

*sigh* I just can't believe there are so many people who don't care about the future of our world, and can't give up 15 minutes of their life to read something so desperately important to that future.

BULLS**T. Nobody was saying anything against Trump until he harmlessly started talking about getting NATO countries to pay more, so that Americans wouldn't be stuck getting bled for money. As soon as Trump dared to poke the sacred cow NATO, then suddenly the freakin NATO lobby are all murmuring that he's a Russian stooge, etc, etc. They weren't saying a thing about him until he dared broach the taboo topic of NATO countries paying more. Trump pointed out that while visiting such countries, he noticed their airports and infrastructure were newer and sparkly compared to America's. He legitimately raises the fact that these countries aren't poor like in the 1950s, and they can damn well afford to pay more. As soon as he did that, then suddenly he's EvilMoscowStooge#1.

How come he wasn't called EvilStooge#1 before? The guy's been in the limelight for 40 years - if he was a stooge for Moscow, it would have been detected long ago.

You people are bald-faced liars, and busy stoking up your own version of McCarthyist paranoia to serve your very illiberal purposes.

It's far easier to retreat into team politics and gauge one's value based on the success of the team than it is to think critically for oneself.

Looks like you didn't read the article either.

I'm reading through it now and one thing I find interesting, and something I've been saying for a while, was this:

(Hillary Clinton left the State Department in 2013, which means that if she had used its unclassified email system rather than her private server—a decision that has dogged her throughout the campaign—any of her emails on the government system could have been obtained by Russian hackers.)

EDIT: Just finished it. It was a good read. Informative.

I read it - and it sounds like a lot of contrived storytelling without any hard evidence whatsoever - very conspicuously relying on hearsay.

Furthermore, by your standard, if the Watergate break-in story had been exposed by Russian hackers instead of by Woodward & Bernstein, then the burglary would have been completely legitimate and Nixon would have deserved to serve out his full term of office.
