Sick.

An environment has been created where this has become the norm.

God Bless the families of these officers.

I have a picture of the shooters in my head already. Anyone care to guess?

This is going to become more frequent now and it is the stage set by our divisive attitudes, divisive organizations, and ultimately our divisive governance.

That environment has been a long time coming.

Even one killing is too many.

But as for a new norm? Violence against police has been on an overall downward trend since the 70's. People just pay more attention to it nowadays.

Agreed. Question is: What, exactly, is the environment and who created it?
The people you think about in your head when police get shot.

I hope they find the coward(s) that killed these officers, and I hope for peace for the families of the fallen.

That environment is one of entitlement, and WE have created it by rushing to correct social ills that took centuries to create via social welfare programs started under the New Deal, and quick fix programs in the 60's and 70's.

Now we have whole swathes of people who think they are entitled to a job, entitled to high pay, entitled to be taken care of, entitled to be treated specially if they can identify as "oppressed," entitled to not be offended, and entitled to act out violently or aggressively whenever they feel aroused to do so; in each case expecting society to adhere to and support such demands.

Or maybe it is just an evil lunatic criminal. Whoever done this has done time in prison before I bet.

I did too, and my mental picture was way wrong on several issues. The man being sought is Caucasian and judging from his photo, does not appear to be a Caucasian living under the influence of the leftwing "Occupier" movement. If anything, the murderer superficially looks like a white guy who got angry with life, then joined a militia.

Of course, these superficial impressions of mine can also be wrong.... .

And this is why I support the death penalty to anyone purposely killing a police officer like this. There needs to be no leniency to the person(s) that did this.

The power of media.

This suspect will never make it to the court room. Amazing speed by law enforcement in naming the suspect.

Although there seems to be more violence in these modern times there is also more video cameras on homes and businesses that often help in catching suspects.

This is prime example why not everyone is cut out to work in law enforcement.

I wouldn't put any of them in law enforcement. Especially not the last one.

I don't believe a white person would do this.

Is it just out of the realm of possibility that a white person could shoot a police officer?

It's happened countless times before.

I don't believe a white person would do this.

Your belief is irrelevant to reality. Of course we have to first see if this guy is in fact guilty, but if he is it's no surprise. Do you think white people don't commit heinous crimes against police officers?
