Arizona sheriff officially charged with criminal contempt

For those of you who live in Maricopa county, hope your ready for taxes to go up. Penzone says he will shut down tent city. New jails will have to be built, or maybe you will be comfortable for those arrested don't have to go to jail.:lamo

Sheriff Joe is past his prime. It is time for him to retire. He has done some good things, he has done some dumb thing. But that could be said about the Supervisors of Maricopa county. If the Feds would do their job, if Phoenix would not be a sanctuary city, maybe ILLEGAL immigration would not be so bad in Arizona.

It is a criminal charge which usually carries jail time. Them's the facts.

BTW, Joe took money that was supposed to go to raises to prop up tent city, which is a big money drain.

My point stands , the charges are a misdemeanor charge., Yes it could include 6 month jail time.

Funny you said nothing about Penzone. and what impact closing tent city will have on taxes. Got to put the criminals somewhere. I doubt there is enough current jail space for all of them.

Penzone actually worked at a place I worked, he left before I got there, I know people that know him, seems to be a good guy. There is current space, in fact, the number of people at tent city has been going down quite a bit. Tent city is there as a stunt to make Joe look tough, there have been all kinds of abuses there. Plenty of stuff to read about it online.

So Penzone's promise was an empty promise. The board decided to close it down.

Like I said, Joe needs to go. Hope whoever gets elected into the job will still work on id theft, illegal immigration, drugs, etc.

Easy fix for that. When you are not arresting Hispanic American citizens because you decide that they are illegal aliens the jail population is going to go down.
 
Sheriff Joe Arpaio and those that worship him is just more evidence that modern conservatives just LUUUUUURRRRRV authoritarianism and lust after the authoritarians such as him.

and yet you don't care about illegals that were arrested for id theft and being here illegally, now do you?

On another thread I posted a vid of illegals crossing over from Mexico. I asked posters to describe those individuals. Many didn't want too.

Guess if you describe someone who killed someone else as a (name your color , human, wearing (name the clothes). You are profiling for that suspect.

While I think some of msco stoppages were wrong, there were some that were right. Yes, I know its the feds job. Well they are doing a pretty poor job.

Let's see how it plays out in court for Joe A. He is innocent till proven guilty. Just like Penzone is innocent of the alleged wife abuse charges unless found guilty in a court of law.

What I do care about are the American citizens Arpaio rounded up, and that a judge ordered restitution to be paid to. Feel free to accuse me of bringing up Godwin, but rounding up people based on their race is something that the Nazis used to do.

Read the article. A lot of those Arpaio rounded up were not criminals. They were American citizens who were rounded up because they looked Mexican. Read how a judge has ordered restitution to be paid to them for their false imprisonment.

Feel free to ignore the number of illegals arrested under ID theft and also were here illegally.

Yes, some of MCSO arrests were wrong. Yet some were correct. You do realize that under federal law , if you are not a citizen and are in the country legally, you are to carry your immigration papers with you. Look it up if you don't believe federal law requires it.

Why are you so supportive of illegal aliens in the country?

Its amazing how little you know about what a corrupt pos he is...and how many millions we paid when people in jail (not prison) ended up dead, from tasing, or from not getting insulin, etc.

We know about it in AZ, because we read the paper, the rest of the country reads Joe's PR crap.
