Controversial Republican Mike Roman to run Donald Trump's 'election protection'

I'm just saying that ****ting on someone because they use a form of English that you don't use, is bigotry and discrimination.
They're different, there for they must be bad, stupid, wrong, etc.

Should probably stop doing that.

It's a mildly amusing tangent, but it's the least relevant part of the story or the thread. The topic of the thread is Trump sending supporters to possibly intimidate potential voters and who may use racial profiling in the process, whether this is even legal and whether this will cause voting disruption on November 8.

You can say what you want and I will say that you're sounding exactly like a bigot.
All that it points out is that you hold views that are regionally, culturally and/or ethnically bigoted.

Crazy thing, English is a diverse language and people often speak it differently from you.
That doesn't automatically make them wrong.

Now you're just obviously using histrionics in order to try to deflect from the thread topic. Please stop.

I hope it doesn't go wrong and I think they're wrong for it.
If any "rigging" has occurred it's been the lies and distortions portrayed by both candidates.

Please don't attempt to use any form of false equivalency argument. Trump is starting a program to monitor and potentially intimidate voters, not Clinton.

I'm not a bigot. That's why I don't support the man who wants to racially profile and wants to discriminate against people who are Muslim.

You're right, people do speak differently than I do. I don't say ignorant things like this:

“I’ll look for . . . well, it’s called racial profiling. Mexicans. Syrians. People who can’t speak American,” he said. “I’m going to go right up behind them. I’ll do everything legally. I want to see if they are accountable. I’m not going to do anything illegal. I’m going to make them a little bit nervous.”

If you want to applaud the man who admits to being a bigot, then good for you. At least you're honest. Me, I don't applaud bigotry. I'm disgusted by it. That's why I'm not voting for Trump.

I think he's wrong for what he has done and I think she is wrong for what she has done.
They're not equivalent, but they're both still wrong.

Jasper is going after the person because he's planning on intimidating potential voters based on their race.

I'm wondering how someone can even get away with that? Isn't it a textbook case of intimidation? I'd be pretty pissed if someone followed me because I'm a woman, assuming I'm not qualified to vote.

I don't know what she has done that's relevant to this thread, seeing as the topic is clearly outlined in posts 1 and 3.

Yes, but you're using common sense, reason and logic.

So you can understand why so many people can't comprehend what you just said.

So in order to combat the perceived problem of voter intimidation, Trump and his supporters are promising to engage in voter intimidation. That's logical.

I can't even figure out a word to describe it. Not in English, or German, or Swahili, even in American.

When you take a shot at someone, because they speak differently than you.
It certainly comes off as bigoted.

In 2012, two people holding batons stood near a voting location, the police were called and they left. Trump is calling for that on a massive, organized scale, and has even spoken of doing this since mid-August. Have any law enforcement agencies made any comments on the legality of Trump's plan? And if not, why not?

Yes, I'm a bigot for pointing out that someone who admits to being a racial profiler and intends to intimidate voters based on their ethnicity.

Stop, please. You are really embarrassing yourself. Don't go down with the Trump sinking ship. Retain a small semblance of sanity and decorum, please.

Honestly, you've been running on that "stupid Trump supporter" train for while now.
If it weren't for people like you, I wouldn't bother to defend them.

Treat people how you would want to be treated.
Why have we forgotten this?

Dude. Stop. Tres was specifically pointing to Webb's plan to carry out voter intimidation and use racial profiling.

Not that it matters, but wasn't that 2008? I think some people are still whining about that. Trump is calling for behavior like those clowns exhibited, and then some. Proudly. And his supporters are apparently taking up his charge like dutiful foot soldiers. Let's intimidate voters using racial profiling. Yeeha!

Not sure why the law hasn't looked into this.

This thread isn't about me. Please get back on topic, which is Trump calling for mass voter intimidation, and some of his supporters wanting to do it using tried and tested racial profiling.

You are correct. That was 2008.

Apparently there is some new social cause that it's acceptable to **** on a people who are different.
Sorry, I think it's a load of crap.

Don't like me pointing it out, don't do it.

So you go after people because they may speak a different dialect of English?
I can't find the personal information on this Roman fellow, but by his usage he may be a non rhotic English speaker.

Who is this "Roman fellow"? The man quoted is named Steve Webb and he's a carpenter from Ohio. And as I explained, there is no need to point out Steve used the term "American" to brand him a moron - he says he doesn't want to do anything "illegal" then describes engaging in illegal voter intimidation based on racial profiling.

That could easily explain why he uses "American" rather than just English.
It's common in non rhotic speakers.

It doesn't explain the idiocy of the rest of his "American Wingnut" comment - he's going to look for "Mexicans. Syrians. People who can’t speak American. I’m going to go right up behind them...I’m going to make them a little bit nervous.."

Fine, I'm out.

Well, yes, engaging in voter intimidation based on racial profiling is "bad, stupid, wrong, etc." Seems obvious to me. You're trying very hard to keep these criticisms focused on his language, when that isn't actually the problem, as we keep pointing out.

And look, I'm from the frickin South and when I go to other parts of the country, people make fun of the way I talk all the time. His word choice is not actually the problem - it's a humorous and convenient but irrelevant example of the "wingnuttery" of the entire quote.

We have seen those two black thugs outside ONE polling place for 8 years now, over and over and over. We now have a POTUS nominee calling for that all over the country by his followers. It's not defensible.

I'm done responding to this thread.
I've already said "Fine, I'm out."

There will be no more responses from me, here.
I've said my peace on my particular issue.

Perhaps "certain communities" are all those separate groups that had breakfasts together here in Philadelphia during the convention.
