A federal judge in New York has ordered counsel for Donald Trump and the disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein to appear in court along with the attorney for a woman referred to only as “Jane Doe” who alleges the Republican presidential nominee raped her when she was 13.

Judge Ronnie Abrams has slated an initial status conference in the civil lawsuit for 16 December in a New York district court.

The order raises the extraordinary prospect, were Trump to win the 8 November battle for the White House, of counsel for a US president-elect being called into federal court in proceedings relating to allegations of rape of an underage girl.

The first status conference is meaningless. It has nothing to do with the merits of the case, that will likely be dismissed as it has been dismissed twice before.

last time I check innocent until proven guilty.

that's the entire purpose of these allegations that the Dems held for years. To release them too close to the election that they cannot be proven or disproven. Its campaign by smear

actually it should be considered libel. The DNC should be sued for this unless they can provide proof that he did something.

What happened to believing in personal responsibility? Everything that isn't metaphorically sucking Trump's dick is the fault of everyone else.

when did the women know they were "harassed by Trump" long before he announced he was running in the primaries. That they waited until now means their intent was to elect hillary rather than keep Trump out of the race

yep, for sure. My problems with the clintons is not he was a horny scum bag but that Cankles-the alleged avenging lioness for downtrodden women everywhere, used the power of the government to attack and destroy the reputations of women who accused the Penis in Chief of being a harasser. The clinton crime family has a well known reputation of using government resources to try to harass or destroy their opponents-such as using the IRS to investigate groups such as the NRA and the Heritage Foundation.

Thus sort of actions completely disqualify Hillary from being president. There is no greater sin than a politician trying to use the power of government to harass opponents
 
I'm not voting for Trump, I don't like the guy, but my impressions is this will be dismissed. I could be very wrong, but the exact same thing happened with Payton Manning after the Super Bowl. Like four or five different women came up at the same time saying he assaulted them RIGHT after winning the title. I didn't hear anything about that since. So maybe he was found guilty but I didn't hear anything about it.

The timing just makes it obvious in my opinion. I would be extremely surprised if he is found guilty.

No. Trump's videotape set the stage for these women to be taken seriously. For these women to come forward prior to that release would have been very risky for them. Trump's legal team would have been on them like white on rice.

That video tape made it all too easy. As soon as I saw that video I said, just watch, women will come forward.

He's a boorish asshole who thinks he's immune because of his star status. And why wouldn't he. Women fear him. But the minute that tape came out, all that changed.

That could very well be the case.

For me though, until Trump is found guilty in a court of law, I will consider him innocent of any wrongdoing. I don't care for the opinion of the public when it comes to something as serious as rape allegations.

It's the exact same way I feel about the rape accusations against Bill Clinton.
