Iraqi housewife and ISIS fighter - CNN.com

This is a woman who commands respect, I thought. She keeps a Beretta 9-millimeter pistol in a holster under her left arm. The area around the trigger was silver where the paint had worn off.The woman in question, 39-year-old Wahida Mohamed -- better known as Um Hanadi -- leads a force of around 70 men in the area of Shirqat, a town 50 miles (80 kilometers) south of Mosul, Iraq.
She and her men, part of a tribal militia, recently helped government forces drive ISIS out of the town.

But you know.....women shouldn't/can't be "real" soldiers.

The Kurdish YPJ (Women's Protection Units) kicked ISIS ass for months in Kobane in Syria and on Mount Sinjar in Iraq.

You got that wrong. They are fine soldiers. They just can't carry the fat, wounded sergeant home, unless it's a big woman.

You two realize that in the part of his post that you're talking about he was being sarcastic right? Hence the "" emoticon.....

"Real" soldiers lug up to 200lbs of equipment on their back for miles. Women make excellent fighter pilots, helicopter pilots, etc. but the job of infantry is simply too taxing for most women.

That said, I have no problem letting women into the infantry so long as they pass the same physical requirements as everyone else, and everyone elses requirements aren't lowered to allow more women to pass.

So! You think, he thinks that women don't make good soldiers?!? How very old fashioned!

..... Or boiling heads, for that matter. ;)

If a woman can handle the physical demands of infantry, then by all means, let her be a soldier. But do NOT relax the requirements to let more women in. Those requirements keep many men out, too.

Hah. The funny thing is I don't think Dragonfly would be so gung-ho if the story was about American soldiers boiling ISIS heads...

Why would we have fat soldiers?

My reply was strictly reinforcement

Do I think American soldiers should be acting that way? No. Of course not.

Is she an American soldier?

How's about you go tell her to stop boiling heads. Please report back her response.

So you have a low standard for her?

How's about you go tell her to stop boiling heads. Please report back her response.

Why would I do that?

Her. She is a 'refugee' we can let in.

Taking body parts as trophies is a war crime.

There are no rules when fighting ISIS.

Only a fool would think otherwise.

And, women are expected to do the job and not excused from actually doing the job.

I wonder if she served fava beans with them? Or does that only go well with liver?
