El Cajon shooting: Officer fatally shoots black man - CNN.com

"When (officers) contacted him, he failed to comply with the directives that he was given," Ransweiler said.

Instead, Davis said the man kept his hands concealed in his pockets while pacing back and forth. As a second officer prepared a Taser, the man "rapidly drew an object," placed both hands on it "like you would be holding a firearm" and stood in a "shooting stance," according to police.

I think the police were justified from what I can see in this photo. If he has a gun or not, doesn't matter now.

Prepare to riot. Pack up the buses, the show must go on.

The cop was probably a Russian agent, eh?

Did they identify what the object was?

They have not and they have not found a gun at the scene.

According to the article...

In response, one officer fired his gun at the man, while a second officer discharged his Taser, Davis said. It's not clear if the man was armed. According to Davis, investigators did not find a firearm at the scene of the shooting. Investigators did not say what object was found -- or if it was a weapon.

Here's the thing that I was always taught. Listen to the orders of the police, especially if they have a weapon pointed at you. If they are in the wrong, at least you will be alive to fight the fight after words rather than having your family bury you.

I simply cannot understand why folks continue, even after all these shootings and all the police officers on edge from protests, to not simply listen and then fight the fight afterword's if they feel they were wronged.

Did they identify what the object was?

It wouldn't matter. When someone rapidly withdraws hands from pockets and takes a shooting position there is no time to think, just react to save your life.

If video evidence bares out what has been stated by the police then I believe this to be a clean shoot. Regardless if there was a weapon or not.

It appears this man was disturbed about something and not paying much attention to his situation. Let the investigation determine what happened. In the meantime, here in rural New Mexico, life moves slower and law officers are less on edge. Still, I have found that when meeting officers, it helps to keep hands in sight and make no sudden moves.

Wait just a damned micro second here.....Is this Praxas, or just someone typing under his name?

If only everyone in the other two threads internalized this philosophy...Still gonna be demonstrations though....

"Before police announced the death, dozens of protesters gathered at the shooting scene, with some claiming the man was shot with his hands raised. Police disputed that and produced a frame from cell phone video taken by a witness at the scene that appeared to show the man in the “shooting stance” as two officers approached with guns drawn."

We can NO LONGER give any credence to the narrative immediately pushed after one of these incidents...

Hands up don't shoot!

It was a book!

What is the black lie this time?

This is looking like suicide by cop?

Once again you have a noncomplying subject who is doing everything he can to get shot.
The officer had a fraction of a second to react to a guy that pulls something out of his pocket and
takes a shooting stance pointing towards an officer.

It seems to be a good shoot with the early information that is public. We should wait for the complete
investigation to be sure.

Buses get there tonight. The narrative will be pushed whether or not we give it credence.

Yeah, if that description is true he was intentionally fake-drawing a pistol in front of police officers with weapons pointed at him. (and the photo does seem to show him in a "shooting stance.") Suicide by cop. Poor guy probably had some serious mental health problems.

Police really didn't have a choice there.

What part of "Failure to Comply" or threatening gestures to Officers of the Law, do these Black folks not understand?

Did they identify what the object was?

Matters not. When a person fails to comply and assumes a shooting stance with an object, there is no time for a cop to sacrifice himself with a second guess.

It's just common sense. Many people lack common sense.

Yep.

Riot first, ask questions later- BLM 2016.

That's the sad mentality from these people.

ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZz

Another idiot who didn't know how to follow orders from police.
And of course, there are people who are just looking for an excuse to riot.

The woman who shot this video made a valid observation: The victim's sister is walking around aimlessly in hysterics, but even though there are cops everywhere no one from the police department is making any attempt to console her. They act like bots, completely devoid of compassion. I realize they have to secure the site and so on, but they're not doing anything for her. A cop is drinking from his water bottle, but did any of them offer her a drink? Did they offer to drive her to the hospital or help her contact a friend of family member? Doesn't appear so. Finally, a white woman, presumably a passerby, gives her a hug and the videographer offers her aid. Maybe the El Cajon Police Department should hire them.

It's not the police officers job to console onlookers. Their job is to ensure the safety of the public, not give out hugs.

Ensure the safety of the public, eh? Considering that the "onlooker" in question had just witnessed first-hand an El Cajon police officer fatally shooting her brother, I find your choice of words to be lamentable. In any case, it seems to me that it should be possible for the police to do their jobs and still act just a wee bit like human beings.

That is the narrative the left wants to push. It doesn't help them when police get it right.
