Well, lookee here:

"The vanquished 2016 contender was renting his valuable email list to the GOP nominee for months."

"It took Ted Cruz four months and three weeks of “careful consideration, of prayer and searching my own conscience” to declare publicly that he would vote for Donald Trump.

He made the decision to profit by selling his supporter list to Trump far faster than that.

Just six weeks after he dropped out – and more than a month before Cruz would dramatically snub the nominee at the Republican National Convention – the senator quietly began renting his vast donor email file to his former rival, pocketing at least tens of thousands of dollars, and more likely hundreds of thousands, that can be used to bankroll the Texan’s own political future."

I think this goes to show what B.S. artists these guys are, and how all they do is theatrics to pander for our votes.

And no, I'm not speaking specifically of only these two, but of their ilk in general.

I'm no fan of Sen. Cruz, but he has quite a few supporters who rave about him being 'principled'. Well, principles like this we don't need. Principles like these, I will not teach my kids.

Ordinarily, I try to put a lot of work in my OP, including some original thought on the matter. I suppose we can philosophically debate how this has become the norm, and what it all means, etc., etc. But in this case I have little more to say or do, but just put it out there. I think it's self-explanatory - and illustrative of how the pols play us.

The Lyin' Ted moniker really fits, doesn't it?

They should call him Schemin' Ted too.

Im a Cruzer and taking this at face value I agree its a very disappointing revelation. I will also say I loaded his election app on my phone and I was constantly being asked for money by him. I found the way he went about it very off putting.

But, but he is a devout God fearing Christian and I am sure the money went to some church or charity. A principled and beloved man such a Cruz would never do something so low, dishonorable or of questionable purpose. Then again, he endorsed Trump proving that he is nothing more than a complete piece of crap, lacking any moral fortitude or principle. I am shocked.

The thing is, we all get taken by them, which is one of my purposes in posting the article. Politics is just a dirty, sleazy, crooked business. I've seen it and experienced it at the local level, and with the stakes higher at the national level I can only think it gets worst.

After Bernie dropped I was asked why I was considering voting for Hillary, when she is crooked. Regardless of the voracity of the claim of crookedness, I replied that "they were all crooked, and I'm voting for the person that I think will best implement the political agenda I prefer".

I know my last sentence sounds terribly cynical, but I think I'm being pragmatic, as crazy as that sounds.

As to Cruz, there was a part of me that was willing to respect him - because he does portray himself as a true Conservative and Constitutionalist. I'm not Conservative for the most part, but can respect principled Conservatives and value some of their ideals. I am also a strong supporter of the Constitution, and value it greatly. I respect men that stand for principle, even when differing from mine.

But while I was willing to respect Cruz despite not liking him, this article reiterated just how we are used for pawns in their game.

Sadly.

Like I said Im what people call a Cruizer. I gave it some thought and I think I know why There was a delay between sharing his donor list and his public endorsement. He was probably waiting for Trump to pay him for the list before he would endorse him. Kudos to Cruiz for being one of the few who figured out how to get Trump to pay them, lol

Yes, in this case Trump seems accurate.

But what are we to name Trump?

"Manipulative Donald"?

It doesn't ring, but seems about right!

Hah!

You know, you may be right!

These lists are always sold, the interesting thing is that Trump is setting GOP small donor records this summer which tells me that Team Trump is buying quality.

As I would expect.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if Trump used money from his Charitable Foundation to pay Cruz.

You seem proud to be voting for Trump. Going to the voting booth this year is going to be like taking Castor Oil.

Oh my. We're getting closer and closer to an Orwellian world by the day. This is the piece of **** that evangelicals canonized as the savior of conservatism and the heir of Jesus? How pitiful.
