The FBI offered Cheryl Mills, one of the closest confidantes of Hillary Clinton, a limited immunity deal, granting her protection in order to get ahold of her computer and recover some of the former State Department secretary’s email messages, members of Congress said Friday.

“At its heart, Clinton’s secret server was an end run around government transparency laws designed to hide corruption between the Clinton Foundation and her State Department, an arrangement which ultimately put our national security and sensitive diplomatic efforts at risk,” said Trump spokesman Jason Miller.

Give a witness immunity, then let said witness act as a lawyer for the person being investigated.
This smells horribly.
There was never going to be an indictment, it was all for show.

Maybe they'll give immunity to Hillary next....."Please just tell us how you did it...." Pathetic.

"The immunity grants to Mills and Samuelson were narrow, covering only their handover of laptops used in 2014, after Clinton left State, to conduct a review of the former secretary's emails to separate work-related messages from those purely personal in nature. The immunity came after the women were interviewed by the FBI and did not cover any of their statements. People familiar with the immunity offer said it was not related to the lawyers' testimony, noting that FBI Director James Comey said in July there was no evidence of a deletion aimed at frustrating the investigation.

A lawyer for Mills and Samuelson, Beth Wilkinson, said she requested the immunity grants because of inter-agency disputes about whether some information in Clinton's emails was classified.

"As the government indicated in these letters, the DOJ and FBI considered my clients to be witnesses and nothing more. Indeed, the Justice Department assured us that they believed my clients did nothing wrong. At all points my clients cooperated with the government’s investigation, including voluntarily participating in interviews with the FBI and DOJ," Wilkinson said in a statement.

She was a Witness, who also acted as a lawyer, when it is barred per State Department ethics rules.
Sorry, this whole thing stinks of bull****.

Clinton campaign statement:

"House Republicans are trying to make something out of nothing by rummaging through the files of a Justice Department investigation that was closed months ago without any charges whatsoever, and leaking selective details three days before the first presidential debate," noting that Mills and Samuelson cooperated fully with the FBI's inquiry and "had already given full interviews to the investigators."

"Congressman Chaffetz continues to abuse his office by wasting taxpayer dollars to try to second-guess the FBI in what amounts to a desperate attempt to boost Donald Trump's chances against Hillary Clinton," Fallon said."

Well there is new evidence, that shows intent.
So, it's kinda important.

Why would she need immunity?

How is someone granted immunity when they were allowed to advise Hillary throughout this email scandal?

Because the investigators including those in Congress are wimps that don't have the balls to go after what everyone else on the planet knows, and that is that this was a crime worse than Watergate, but we shall let a minority of liberal progressives rule, as in the tyranny of the minority by squelching any such common sense prosecution.

Maybe they'll give immunity to Hillary next....."Please just tell us how you did it...." Pathetic.

For all we know they might have done just that.

Innocent people don't typically need immunity.
We weren't even supposed to know about this immunity.
It was supposed to be confidential, if I read it right.

On a side note that relates, the FBI released more 302 docs on the email investigation abut an hour ago.

I still dont understand why this is still a thing, the only truly illegal thing she did in this scenario is discuss classified material with her advisor, when he didnt have clearance. Which is an oversight on her part as she was completely in her rights as secretary of state to grant him clearance. Did she make a poor decision in an effort to circumvent freedom of information act ? Yes. Did she technically commit a crime, yes. But, the crime was avoidable with her own signature on a piece of paper.

And anything sensitive enough to cause a fit over happens in special tech free rooms on paper. Not in email.

Why you people think this is a big deal, is beyond me. I mean with cinammon hitler basically on our front door, who cares about emails...

You are a little late in the game to become an apologist or run cover for her. The story is already out.

She shared classified information with people beyond her advisors.
Her lawyers, private IT techs and possibly others.

Her violating FOIA is suspicious in and of itself.
Why did she feel the need to go around that?
What was she doing?

She has no right to privacy when it comes to her official business, unless there is a state secrecy issue involved.
Trying to keep things hidden, often causes people to want to know why you're hiding it.

Woah check this out.

Ammunition from FBI docs.

A Platte River Networks Work Ticket Dated After The New Retention Policy Was Instituted Called Clinton’s New Policies The “Hillary Coverup Operation.” (“Hillary R. Clinton Part 3 Of 3,” Federal Bureau Of Investigations. Released 9/23/16)

You'd have to DL to verify because it's from TeamTrump, but it makes for bad PR.

Well, as far as why she wanted to circumvent freedom of info, she was likely preparing for a tough campaign where republicans latch onto any mistake or flaw, and thus wanted to avoid the hassle. Just like every secretary of state before her, she opted out of state dept email. I believe that Kerry was first secretary in history to use his assigned email. But hey, u go right ahead thinking she did something extra dastardly.

And I know why she was hiding things... Shes a career politician, they all got this kinda bs in their closet. Because they are super paranoid about scandal. Except cinnamon hitler, scandal only makes him stronger.

And Im not apologizing for her, i genuinely dont care if she emailed state secrets to joe bob in IT. When thanks to NSA's intentional crippling of our internet defense, so they can violate our rights to privacy, any chinese or russion person can hack the information for themselves. Our cyber security is for ****, picking on a single politician for playing the same game as everyone else is just retarded.
