I would laugh, but I'm paying for this clown and his stupidity.....and we just got dinged another 4.5 million to pay for his recent court case (btw, he has pled guilty). He is a senile corrupt old fool who needs to go.

He's throwing every piece of red meat out to try to get re-elected. This, ran an ad about being fiscal conservative (and tough on crime), and has another going about how he's tough on drugs and illegals bringing them in (etc) iirc.

I wish Joe the best of luck. If there is evidence to support his claims I hope he finds it. If not than let him fight the windmill all he wants

I lived in Phoenix for 12 years. His strategy against immigrants makes crime sooooo much worse there. And the idiots who keep electing him can't see it. It's a win/win for him. He talks tough on crime, crime goes up, old people look for someone who talks tough on crime. He's got a helluva racket going there.

He has all the immigrants so terrified of being caught and deported that those who came here to simply work won't roll over on those coming to do really really bad stuff. And now Phoenix is like the kidnapping capital of the country where these drug criminals are kidnapping other immigrants and ransoming them back to their families because they know they won't go to the cops. And the drug trafficking there is probably the biggest in the country now because of the completely uncooperative underworld that Arpaio has created.

If you are going to say you don't give a **** because they are immigrants... well there are a lot of citizens getting caught in the crossfire of Arpaio's butt-headed stupidity.

Its fun to mock the ridiculousness of it, but think hard on it and realize this guy was a sheriff, the top law enforcement officer for a county of 3.8 million. He has direct control over investigations, and whom gets hired as a deputy or not.

The level of derangement in police department heads is staggering. Here in my hometown of Tacoma, Washington, a cop by the name of David Brame rose through the ranks through the 1980s and 1990s to eventually become the Chief of Police by exiling enemies from his department, quashing domestic violence charges his own wife tried to file against him and growing a buddy-buddy relationship with the city manager to help make sure those wen't nowhere.

In broad daylight in a crowded mall parking lot, in front of their young children whom were in the car just a few feet away and bore direct witness to their father's actions, on April 26, 2003, Brame shot and killed his wife and then himself.

There are stories like these all over the country. For those of you whom argue that every cop deserves respect ... how the hell do you respect cops when police departments are run by such mentally deranged persons?

Do you really think investigations of crimes conducted by departments run by madmen like these are somehow immune to the taint of this insanity?

When we -- citizens -- entrust someone with a badge, a gun and the authority to use all necessary aggression and violence to bring suspects to justice, shouldn't we demand a rather high bar of responsibilty, soundness of mind and judgment, integrity and objectivity?

If you read about the antics of Joe Arpaio and laugh at what a silly nincompoop he is, why don't you take a few more moments and think about the citizens of the county he is in, and the fact they -elected- him as their sheriff. I hope you do so, and I hope it scares the hell out of you enough to not just mark a ballot for a position like sheriff when you're in the voting booth, and instead to take the time beforehand to check out whom it is you are voting for.
