Mexican President Peña Nieto: No Barriers Can Stop Immigration - NBC News

"History shows that there are no barriers that can stop either the movement of people or the fusion of cultures," Pena Nieto said in his address to the summit ahead of the U.N. General Assembly.

"Neither natural nor artificial barriers hold sway. For every river there has always been a bridge. For every obstacle there has always been a way forward. Movement is an essential part of human existence," he said.Trump has infuriated Mexicans with a series of broadsides against the United States' southern neighbor."We are a proudly mestizo, multi-cultural and diverse nation," Pena Nieto said, referring to Mexican of mixed descent. "We Mexicans firmly believe that this mestizo fusion is the future and destiny of human kind."

Hey Mr Mexican President, how would you like it if everyone in Mexico City moved into your presidential mansion - you know, since walls, fences and other barriers don't work, and all that.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Mexico's illegals laws tougher than Arizona's - Washington Times

Under the Mexican law, illegal immigration is a felony, punishable by up to two years in prison. Immigrants who are deported and attempt to re-enter can be imprisoned for 10 years. Visa violators can be sentenced to six-year terms. Mexicans who help illegal immigrants are considered criminals.

The law also says Mexico can deport foreigners who are deemed detrimental to “economic or national interests,” violate Mexican law, are not “physically or mentally healthy” or lack the “necessary funds for their sustenance” and for their dependents.

The Mexican government can pound sand with their complaining.

American citizens were lined up at Swift when the illegals were rounded up

And yet workers at these plants are mainly immigrants. Workers in the farm fields in California, substantial number Mexican.

No one is trying to stop immigration. Anyone that believes that to be the case is a moron.

Ironically...mejico has a southern wall and strict immigration laws.

What?

President Barack Obama has slammed Donald Trump’s proposal to make Mexico pay for a border wall, but his own administration is spending $75 million for border security on Mexico’s southern border.
Since 2013, the Obama administration, through a partnership with the Mexican government known as the Mérida Initiative, has already spent at least $15 million helping Mexico secure its southern border, according to a nonpartisan Congressional Research Service report.
“With U.S. support, the Mexican government has been implementing a southern border security plan since 2013 that has involved the establishment of 12 advanced naval bases on the country’s rivers and three security cordons that stretch more than 100 miles north of the Mexico-Guatemala and Mexico-Belize borders,” Congressional Research Service wrote in a February 2016 report.
“The State Department has provided $15 million in equipment and training assistance, including NII equipment, mobile kiosks, canine teams, and training for INAMI officials in the southern border region. It plans to spend at least $75 million in that area,” CRC wrote.
INAMI is the Mexico’s National Institute of Migration. NII equipment are X-ray or gamma-ray imaging systems meant to screen cars, trucks and containers.
The State Department website calls the Merida Initiative “an unprecedented partnership between the United States and Mexico to fight organized crime and associated violence while furthering respect for human rights and the rule of law.”

Obama Administration Is Spending $75 Million Securing MEXICO’S Southern Border

Mexico is building a 'wall'... on its southern border (to keep illegal immigrants out). Perhaps even more ironic, The FT notes that the Obama administration is coy about its role in Mexico’s crackdown but is sending $75m in equipment and training to help stop Central Americans from crossing illegally into Mexico... in other words, US Taxpayers funded a Mexican wall to keep immigrants out.

The UN estimates 400,000 Central Americans cross illegally into Mexico each year and as many as half of those are fleeing violence. But as The FT reports, Mexico already acts as a formidable barrier for many...
Mexico Builds A "Wall" (And Guess Who Paid For It)

Don't you think that Mr. Obama should be spending US tax payer money to build a wall on the US Southern border?
If walls don't work (no indication that they don't), why is the US paying for Mexico's Southern border wall?

WTF?

DC political elite are lying to the electorate again, aren't they?

He's right. Even the Great wall of China and the Berlin Wall (very short) failed.

While you're comparing Mexicans to the predatory Mongol invaders, you should realize the Berlin Wall was meant to keep people in and not out.
Meanwhile, modern China has simply annexed part of Mongolia, now known as Inner Mongolia. Maybe that could be done to Mexico - Baha, anyone?

Even zombies can breach a wall

That's why a nice big deportation force will help a lot - while providing useful employment at the same time.

Sovereignty has always been vigorously defended, and that will never change.

The illegals are working for cash. Americans can't do that. It isn't legal.

So he supports illegal immigration into the US. Or does he support legal immigration into the US? Nobody has stated that they want to stop immigration, not even Hillary. Maybe he just doesn't want a border. Immigrate into Mexico illegally and see what happens.

He supports what the cartels tell him to support.

American's won't do? Tell that to all the Construction and landscape workers who lost their jobs. Heck, I bet there's some ex-cons who would love to put in an honest days work as a cook or even a dishwasher because there's an illegal working there instead.

The "jobs American's won't do" is a bogeyman. With one exception. Farm laborers. That is some backbreaking work and I bet there are indeed Americans who won't do it but the vast majority of illegal immigrants aren't doing those kinds of jobs so it's a moot point.

That is something different entirely. I was pointing out the hypocrisy of Mexico. If we want to talk about that, then I still prefer it to be legal because illegal workers can be abused and taken advantage of and they have no recourse because they are here illegally.

Oh, he wants a border. He just wants it to only flow north, not south.

Excellent idea lets expand our welfare programs to include Mexico

Horse crap.

This is what they really mean,

“There is no doubt that Mexican men and women, full of dignity, drive and a capacity for work, are doing the jobs that not even blacks want to do there, in the United States.” - Vicente Fox

Add in meat packers, back breaking work.

Greetings, NonoBadDog. :2wave:

:agree: I remember when a man took a wrong turn and ended up truly lost. IIFC, he wasn't doing anything illegal, just trying to get back home to the US. I don't know if he ever got help from our Consulate or anyone else in authority, or if he's still being held there in prison.

So all jobs are illegal than? Because last I checked, earning a salary from a job usually involves getting paid in cash.

You didn' really just post that...right? :lamo
